To win elections, you have to actually get votes. So what happens in situations like this? People just don't show up, or they skip the line on the card, or they say fk it and vote for the libertarian or some such thing.
We saw this in the past in Indiana, when Dick Lugar lost in a primary to some douche, and then Indiana ended up electing a Dem to Senate.

I haven't seen any of his stuff recently, but what I have seen of him (I love the guy, he makes me cry from laughing and that's rare for me) wasn't political at all.

If Amy Acton wins the Ohio governor’s race people not showing up to vote for Vivek Ramaswamy will be a big reason why. It’s still a close race, but the MAGA base Ramaswamy needs to win just doesn’t like him. Him being a brown Hindu has a fair amount to do with it.
