it wasn't a godawful border bill. it was a bipartisan border bill that almost everyone supported until Trump torpedoed it because he wanted to use the border issue to drum up support for his election.

I've never seen dem support criminal activity..other than pushing for lighter punishments for crimes. Think mostly to try to combat prison overcrowding or thinking the punishment is overkill for the crime that was committed. Obviously there were debates about what constitutes a crime during the protests/riots but I don't think anyone was saying someone that was caught committing a crime should be let go.
And anyone that supported or defended Jan 6 or put the current felon in the white house probably doesn't have much of a leg to stand on when pointing fingers on supporting crime/criminals.

and again, it was a bipartisan bill that was supported by the majority of both parties prior to Trump torpedoing it for personal reasons (help his election).

Starts with fixing the crime. You need extreme tough on crime policies for violent criminals. Cut back the govt bennies. Section 8, Medicaid, and food stamps is not supposed to be a lifestyle. At minimum put in work requirements or regular drug screening for recipients. Fail or miss a test you lose the bennies. Then find a way to put father's back in the homes. Start locking up parents that refuse to police their violent teenagers.

Why would an external proposal work when the problem is an internal cultural one? You can't fix something that doesn't want to be fixed.

- massively raise the barrier for SNAP eligibility and other welfare programs
- Federally mandated school uniforms
- Federal penalties for parents of habitually truant students
- Federal ban on phones in schools
- Criminal penalties for guardians of kids who commit violent crimes
