Waste of money and time. No connection to anything. Absurd.  This should be IU’s nonconf schedule every year.

Butler (get em a check)

ball state

Indiana State

kentucky

We need to be done with the FCS non-con now. It was okay when we sucked, but enough.

Ohio State is playing at Texas today. Oregon is at Oklahoma State. Michigan hosted Oklahoma. Wisconsin played Notre Dame last week.

And what are we doing?

Which is why canceling the Notre Dame series was so infuriating.

We only have slots for three OOC games and Butler is FCS. But I'd like to see the Bourbon Bowl game reinstated and the others more local. Get some other MAC/MVC schools in the mix.

We're playing games that were scheduled before Cig. He will decide going forward.

@unclemark someone canceled nd.  I don’t give a shit a who he schedules. Iu is my second sports school.  I think cig is a sports god. Higher than knight and just below Messi.  But whoever put together this stupid schedule I’m bitching that if you’re going to play puds play puds with a connection to the state. The residents. You’re a state school.  Howard?  WTF. Stroke butler a check. N Texas?  Bring in ball state.

I'm fine with playing (and paying) local puds. But it can't be ISU and BSU every year. I'd work in some Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Kentucky second tier teams for recruiting/portal exposure.

I've still not seen a straight answer about the ND cancellation.

@unclemark totally fine. Howard is stupid as hell.  Let Maryland or uva play them.  Let the Howard students show up and alums. That’s what it should be with the smaller state and regional schools.

stadium was empty at halftime today

Love you as a poster but…, stick with Soccer…

If you want to see a great example of a team who has scheduled to please their fan base by playing “good” games early just look to Wisconsin. 6 good out of conference matchups since 2021, 6 L’s , one coach fired, and one about to be fired…

That kind of scheduling “for the fans” is idiotic, in my opinion, and doesn’t benefit the Team in any way, shape, or form… Nine times out of ten, even if you win that type of “near peer” game you end up with key injuries that haunt you the rest of the season…

These early games are for Team and player development and the payoff comes later we all get to enjoy Big Wins that actually matter throughout the Big Ten schedule and in the Playoffs…

Playing the “Big Game” early is a sucker bet that hopefully our AD will Never bite on…

I’m watching OSU/ Texas kickoff and it is absolutely electric all I can think is

“what suckers”

Wisconsin spends no money. That’s their problem.

@76-1 76 I’m not complaining about scheduling at that level.  I’m just saying if you’re going to do it why not do it with schools closer to iu. Make it a little more interesting

@carramrod

That game benefits neither of those teams in any way…

Whoever loses that game will have a razor thin margin of error from this point onward with one additional loss putting their coach squarely on the hot seat and possibly even keeping them out of the Playoffs with 2 losses [probably not, but possibly].

Why risk All that so the same guys who wanted us to play someone other than Howard are also the ones leading the the cheers to fire the coach and fire the AD after we drop one of those more entertaining type games…

That type of scheduling is foolish, at best, and I hope Dolson and Cignetti never fall for that type of sucker bet…

One thing we Know for certain: one of those teams isn’t going Undefeated…

In fairness to Murt, it was Zeke who wanted "good" OOC games.
