I don't know. I've never seen so much out-and-out antisemitic rhetoric in my life as I have since the October 7, 2023 Massacre and the Israeli response. I used to think it was just people being ignorant, now I see so much of it, it's hard to ignore. It's possible that social media amplifies the crazies, but when you've got Massie saying shit like this, the whole Netenyahu puppet meme going around, pro-Hamas rallies targeting synagogues or just American Jews, I don't think it's all just amplified nonsense.Being called antisemetic is the current version of being called racist. Of course, not all of it is, but if I said we should stop foreign aid to Israel or Israel dragged us into this Iran situation, that would be considered antisemitic by many. Does that really put me in the same bucket as the people chanting from the river to the sea? Same thing if I said Israel was justified in their actions following 10/7 would get me labeled as zionist by the other side.
Racist, Socialist, Nazi, Woke, White Supremacist, etc... are all just noise to me right now because anybody who holds a different opinion than the mob on either side of the issue being discussed gets painted as one or more of those terms.

I don't know if Massie is genuinely antisemitic, but that whole Tel Aviv bit was so inappropriate I had to check multiple times whether it not it was even real.

I did see that from 2019. Another question asked was whether schools should teach the creation theory of Catholic priest Georges Lemaitre as part of their science curriculum. Almost 3/4 of democrats opposed it. Explains how we ended up with Biden/Harris.
It showed that people don't think for themselves and instead have knee jerk reactions that they believe align with their political tribe if they don't understand the question.

The number of people who have suddenly formed a new anti-Israel viewpoint simply because of Palestinian deaths in Gaza can be counted on zero hands.
Opinions on Israel have long been formed and baked in. The recent war only served to strengthen opinions already held.
