I'm certain that Lucy was a liberal pretending to be a caricature version of a particularly stupid MAGA Republican. I think the little bitch is genuinely a particularly stupid MAGA Republican.Your takes are hitting genuinely impressive levels of stupidity.
You aren't picking up Lucy Vibes? I mean a meaner take, but it is striking me that way.
US Bishops, Cardinals and the Pope are not happy with Trump's War, the related rhetoric, the "gamification" (videos, for entertainment purposes, that glorify the destruction), etc.
They're not happy with the deportation tactics either.
This spells more trouble for MAGA in November. Catholics are already a huge voting bloc and the church in the US is thriving, with a surge in converts since Leo's election.

I think you are overestimating the power the Vatican and the USCCB have over American Catholic voting behavior.

I don't think so. First, the Vatican is now led by an American. There's a lot of domestic excitement and enthusiasm around his papacy. He's getting eyeballs and ears. Next, I'd concede that many US Catholics don't act in lockstep with the bishops' ideology and/or priorities when it comes to voting (or otherwise), but the USCCB publishes guidance before elections titled "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship" that influences large numbers of Catholics. Parish priests discuss it from the pulpit, and don't risk tax-exempt status as long as they don't endorse specific candidates. Bishops and priests also encourage parishioners to vote.
It's believed by some that the USCCB helped Trump get elected (abortion and religious liberty were hot topics; now it's war and treatment of migrants).
Some questions for comparison.
Which country is larger in land area, Ukraine or Iran?
Which country is larger in population, Ukraine or Iran?
Which country has lost more people to combat, Ukraine or Iran?
Which country has had more land conquered by their opponent, Ukraine or Iran?
Which country has had more of its population and resources conquered, Ukraine or Iran?
Given those answers, is it reasonable to expect Iran to give up in a small fraction of the time that Ukraine has fought?
@hhlurker what concerns me with China is if they see this as a trade. While we deal with Iran they deal with Taiwan. We would find it difficult to respond to Taiwan while fighting Iran. A blockade for a blockade.
