@spartans9312 Clyburn is the worst of the worst on so many levels

There's no President Biden without the shenanigans he pulled.

What shenanigans?

@aloha-hoosier that's a long one but the reality is that there is no biden in office after his horrific performances without the clyburn endorsement.  fckd bernie etc. but is what it is.  clyburnis the quintessential worthless blowhard useless politician.  "civil rights" advocate/politician who for decades presides over the corridor of shame.  blacks cut their noses off to spite their faces voting for these same types.

What shenanigans?

In the early stages of the 2020 Democratic primary, Joe Biden’s campaign was on life support after poor showings in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada. Congressman James Clyburn, the House Majority Whip and a titan of South Carolina politics, is widely credited with providing the "political defibrillation" that saved Biden’s candidacy.

Here is how he orchestrated that turnaround:

### 1. The Strategic Endorsement

Three days before the South Carolina primary, Clyburn gave a passionate endorsement that fundamentally shifted the momentum. While it was long suspected he favored Biden, he waited until the most critical moment to ensure maximum impact. His endorsement wasn't just a press release; it was a call to action, famously stating:

> *"I know Joe Biden. I know his character... I’ve decided that I’m all in. I’m for Joe Biden."*

### 2. Mobilizing the "Firewall"

Clyburn’s influence among Black voters in South Carolina—the core of the Democratic electorate there—was decisive. He didn't just endorse; he actively campaigned:

 * **Media Blitz:** He utilized video ads, robocalls, and focused messaging on Black radio stations.

 * **The "Kingmaker" Effect:** His backing signaled to undecided voters that Biden was the safe and trusted choice to build on the Obama legacy, countering the surge of Bernie Sanders.

### 3. The Supreme Court Suggestion

Clyburn is often credited with pushing Biden to make a specific, high-stakes promise during a televised debate in Charleston. He urged Biden to publicly commit to nominating the first **Black woman to the Supreme Court**. Biden made that pledge during the debate, which resonated deeply with the South Carolina electorate and helped solidify his support just before the vote.

### 4. Triggering the "Chain Reaction"

The result of Clyburn’s efforts was a "landslide" victory for Biden in South Carolina (winning nearly **49%** of the vote). This victory:

 * **Crystallized the Field:** It convinced moderate rivals like Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar to drop out and endorse Biden before Super Tuesday.

 * **Super Tuesday Momentum:** The South Carolina "surge" carried Biden through Super Tuesday just three days later, where he won 10 out of 14 states and effectively secured the path to the nomination.

As Biden himself said during his victory speech in South Carolina: *"My buddy Jim Clyburn—you brought me back!"*

@dbmhoosier that Clyburn has overseen the corridor of shame for this long is absolutely shocking. how these same people get voted in over and over reflects just how stupid our electorate is

Uh, politics and primary voting. You hold on to the top spot on the dumbest so called Republican posters in WC history list. It’s a wide margin. Oneyed and Little Bitch are tied for second, but don’t worry, your spot is still safe.

The rigged the primary but forcing the "moderates" (Buttigay, Klobabchar, etc) out and keeping Warren in to siphon off votes from Bernie who the Dem voters wanted.  There was nothing honest or fair about that primary.

The source is partisan, so maybe more neutral sites will confirm this. Tennessee had a law that anyone whose voting location is moved for redistricting must be notified by mail. The redistricting that just happened created an exception for this time so no notification will be sent out. Assuming the article below is accurate.

That seems sensationalist in nature.  Is their claim that only black voters will be confused and unable to vote when their polling places are moved?

If they really did away with the notices, it's bad for everyone, not just single groups of people.

The soft bigotry of the left really shows itself when they start screaming about this stuff. They think black people are too lazy or too stupid for a lot of things…

I agree, largely. The possible explanation is taking Memphis from 1 to 3 districts means Memphis residents are probably moved more than other populations.

But yes, all people should be informed if they were moved.

The Memphis situation makes sense and I can see the point.

If they really wanted to make a statement, send out notices to all registered voters with address correction requested along with returns.  Cross reference that with the voter rolls, clean them up and publicize it.  Let's see how much it really matters.
