I don't get the point of the Maduro capture comment. We had the most capable military in the world when I was in and after I left and it still is. The core of this operation was much like the capture of OBL. Taking out air defenses was like many operations the military has conducted. Iraq, Yemen, Iran, etc., etc.
That doesn’t fly. If we had a competent and able SecDef, the pull out would either have been a military success or we would have had many resignations. The reason The President has civilian/ military advisors is to make sure we don’t FUBAR important military operations. Austin was incompetent compared to Hegseth.

Austin didn’t have the balls to stand up or resign. And the prostate cancer fiasco. Objectively Hegseth is better than Austin even if Austin was more likable.
You have often, and correctly, said military officers should not use their military status for political purposes. Yet, isn’t that what Kelly did when he appeared in that ad and invoked his military status as an exclamation point?
