Though I dislike how he frames it, I agree with the sentiment that we need to stop crime, specifically violent crime.
And, interestingly, it turns out combating crime helps gun control. IIRC, in DC, over 200 ILLEGAL guns were seized. Seems like that would help stop gun violence.
And if states would do their jobs and protect its citizens, Trump wouldn't have to send troops.
Screw the local officials in these instances. Typically inept Dem mouthpieces that would complain about any assistance offered.
In large city "tourist" areas (if they have one), if the locals aren't handing business, send in the Guard ONLY to the tourist designated areas...like what...the inner Loop and Gold Coast in Chicago? Maybe have guys around Wrigley and Comiskey during games? United Center?
Outside of that, go to the people. See if they want the Guard in. If they don't...and they're cool dealing with the cartels, gangs, and random roaming bands of kids fucking things up on their own, so be it. Don't send them.
