Has anyone here ever hired a career coach?

If so, what are you thoughts? Worth it? Any you'd recommend?

I'm thinking of changing up careers and am open to a lot, but it was recommended to me that a career coach could help organize and streamline my search. At first blush it seems like it could be a good thing, but I'm not really interested in glorified cheerleader.

If you've used one, did they help open doors? I probably won't do anything until after the new year, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

One of the Ramsey people (George Kamel?) has a couple books out on the subject. Might be a cheap option. Check out the Ramsey website.

I use the Dream Team.

Free and you get multiple perspectives on the problem, usually ending in a recommendation to buy Bitcoin, start picking, or open a gummy biz using Pakistani manufacturing.

Just get married, then you get somebody who tells you what to do in all aspects of your life.

A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

@larsiu lmao.  i was just telling my horrible daughter last week that the path to success in this country is very easy.  very simple.  and largely foolproof.

get good grades go to college or trade school

find a career and stick with it.  ride it out (industry swaps career changes entrepreneurial shit - DANGER DANGER)

find a spouse that is career-oriented and wants to work (hot big tits dirty DANGER DANGER)

invest

stay married (divorce DANGER DANGER)

it's really very simple.  stray from that course you got joe repairing ex's falling down houses; me paying mcmansions in child support and worrying about india attacking pakistan; and ohio guy posting on a basketball board if anyone knows anything about career coaches

otherwise you find yourself 54 having a fight with a 4 year old outside of school over whether the school allows lightsabers

Well, at least he didn't throw it at another kid, or the teacher.

My daughter got caught reciting severely NSFW lyrics (with mucho gusto) in the hallway in 6th grade. During a passing period you ask? Oh no, while on a bathroom pass with literally nobody else in the hallway and teachers with their doors open.

I do hope she marries well.

@larsiu crying laughing!!  6th grade seems to be when they learn those words.  i'll never forget i dropped my daughter off.  her whole crew see the car pull up.  she shoots out of the car like a rocket as the kids are yelling XYXYCY hurry our test starts in two minutes

and to my absolute shock.  with only her little body running away i hear her shout:

I KNOW!!!!!!!!!! I'M FUCKD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
