Many here hated Biden doing this, how about Trump?

My lazy loser taker self is definitely in favor of this.

I'd have to see the details of how much it will cost and if it's in place of the Obamacare bailouts.  It will cause some inflation.   It's politically a smart move.

A. I’ll believe it when I see the $2,000 or whatever.

B. I’d much rather see the Debt be reduced, despite the lack of will and effort to really do something consequential.

C. But if I really had my druthers, and even if the $2,000 were to become $20,000, I’d take a victory over osu and any SEC opponent for the national championship over any tariff money.

Can anyone here play this game?

I'm skeptical this will come to pass. Aren't we still waiting on the $5,000 DOGE checks?

That said, if the government is giving out free money, I'll take it regardless of who is in the White House.

I'm not politically astute, but is it a good look for the Trump administration to be fighting so hard to stop SNAP money?

I'll hang up and listen to your answers.

They aren't fighting hard to stop them. The GOP passed a clean CR to fund them.  Democrats voted against it.  Is it politically astute for Democrats to vote against funding SNAP?  I don't think it's a good move, but at this point I am not sure it matters.  It seems everyone has chosen their team and are dug in.

Who went to SCOTUS to stop them?

Are you answering a question with a question?

I'm not impacted.  I'm just wondering how this plays politically.

If you can take money away from those that need it and then turn around and evenly distribute it to everyone...that is definitely a win for the wealthy and those that aren't in need

You know full well that isn't the reason Dems voted against it.

Everyone that is paying attention knows who is begging the supreme Court to not force him to fund snap

I'm not an expert, but when the shit hits the fan on something like people being able to afford food or not, it doesn't seem to bode well for incumbent parties, regardless of political spin.

And I know they're trying to put a band-aid on it, but just wait until the Medicaid cuts from the One Big Beautiful Bill go into effect. I honestly don't know what the end game was here in keeping people from being able to afford food and get healthcare, but I can't imagine it'll be good.

Unless the damage from these things can be averted, everyone who cast their lot with Trump in this second term will be done politically.

1. It’s a brazen attempt to buy votes and support for increasingly unpopular tariffs.

2. There’s nothing fiscally conservative about it. Whatever revenue tariffs bring in should go to deficit reduction. We’re on track to spend 8 percent more than last year already.

3. Anyone who opposed Biden’s attempts to buy votes with taxpayer money (stimulus checks, student loan forgiveness, etc.) but supports this is a hypocrite - and we’ve got tons of hypocrites.

4. I wish the President would quit lying about tariff revenues. He says it’s trillions when it’s less than $200 billion.
