No the post appears but in this case there were blue letters saying “awaiting moderation” at the bottom of the post.

@unclemark My guess is it's even more benign than that, and "awaiting moderation" is just a default phrase in the source code that pops up when you hit "Add Reply" and if you are looking at the right spot at the right time, you see it before it disappears.
