Broadly speaking Democrats are less proud to be American. Broadly speaking Democrats satisfaction with being an American is more tied to whether they hold political power at the moment.
And yet self-identified independents, who tend to vote Republican, more closely track the Dems on this measure. my guess is most that voted in both directions don’t realize they are part of the problem
That graphic doesn't mean chit to illustrate the difference between the parties or the division in the country. The republican party is 1 man now, so naturally those who identify as republican, are proud, because their man is in charge. Can you guess at the results if you'd done a similar graphic among Nazis in 1938?
Republicans are what? 25-30% of the country? Mostly older people and certainly very emotional.
Looks like the other 70% have followed the same general trend line.
