Been looking for a competitive extracurricular to force my done to participate in, since he’s not playing hockey.
He thought debate might be fun, but it looks like his progressive school has a Spech team but not a debate team. Instead, they have this Ethics Bowl team which actually looks better than debate.
Anyone have experience with this competition? Anyone want to weigh in and call it woke without reading the article or thinking about it first?😀

“One presents their ideas. The opposing team asks questions that help everyone to think about the issue more deeply.”
Sounds like law school. I think this would be a fantastic experience. This format doesn’t need to be confined to ethics, but could be expanded to many troubling societal questions. Kudos to the teacher who created this competition.
It shouldn’t be limited to extra-curricular activity, but instead should be part of required curriculum.
