Trump can’t stand losing.

Trump once trafficked with NYC Dems.

What next? Will The Donald flip?

Stranger things have happened. He might shift into legacy mode.

Alternatively, behind closed doors Dems could threaten Trump with impeachment if/when he wields the “power of veto.”

I was just telling Mrs TMFT that he’s deep in legacy mode. The optimistic side of me thinks this is the single best chance for the government to create real reform to save the fiscal path and social security.

From the Dem side, they will have a strong majority in both houses and it SHOULD be important to them to do something with those seats that might keep those seats vs reversing in 2 years. For Trump, he could brag the rest of his life as being the man who saved SS and the broader fiscal path. Which he would love.

The margin in the House may be so large that the Democratic Socialists will not have to be courted and pandered to in order to get anything done.

So, what does it all mean? I don't think the election indicates America loves Democrats, just they hate Trump politics even more. So if I am right, Aloha and Twenty may be the ones with the most to celebrate.

But the Democrats can't spend 2 years doing absolutely nothing. And this is where the trouble develops. Exit polling showed Americans fo not want corruption (and Texas sure backs that up). But they can't just nitpick and throw everything against the wall. Find an egregious case or two by people, not necessarily Trump, and hold hearings. Pass new throw away the key laws. A good start, anyone who worked on DOGE and walked out with government data.

I think I would pass a cap raise on Social Security. That is a "hey, what have you guys done to bail out Social Security" moment.

Revoke the post 911 "the president has authority to fight any war in the name of terrorism" law. I watched Ken Burns last night discussing how much power Congress has ceded and how upset the Founders would be. It isn't just the Republicans that have done this. But it is a problem. Congress knows if they never make decisions they won't get blamed. So leave all decisions to the White House.

Oh, and pass a law mandating someone here''s idea that once you early vote, you don't get political ads. But add a do not contact for people on Medicare during open enrollment. Now that Talarico isn't going to beg me for $1, those are about to replace him on the annoyance list.

@arthur-dent Dems won’t do squat. Investigate.  Cry about socialism.  They will be seen as a total bust in two years. The war ending wil help some with gas but just like Biden spiked it with green shit they will want that so will be of no benefit.

the reality is these dems jumped on a last place team and they aren’t good players.

people want cheaper prices.  Period.  They might temper but they ain’t going down.  It’s baked in. Biden’s endless free cheese followed by trumps war and tariffs totally fckd the country.  Made life expensive.  Ruined the American dream for millions.

el Abdullah Husain el sayed in Michigan or talarico or anybody else isn’t fixing it.  They are inheriting a cluster.

best we can hope is end the war. Cut off the bouncing tariffs. And spend the next two years investigating the trump clan.

what we’ve learned the last 7 years is when gov acts it only makes things terrible.

less gov. Always less gov.

Your 4th paragraph should have a lot of support. People do not want the Iran War as an example…hell, they want very little foreign intervention at this time.

Here’s another

And another to eliminate

https://intelligence.house.gov/2011/01/26/extending-usa-patriot-act-provisions-to-keep-america-safe/

But we also don’t need Warren, Sanders economic policy…which the new Michigan senator will side with them

AHHHHhhhhhhhh!

For a Libertarian usually-forced-to-vote-Republican voter this is a very pleasant morning. Good morning to all! 😎

We now have the second-dumbest group of people much more in charge. But at least a bunch of the dumbest group got tossed out by their ears.

Every once in awhile we need a bit of a revolution.

Do I think the Republican party will find their way to something akin to principles and Republican values? No, they're mostly too stupid.

But it's a start.

Would you take rooting out corruption trip? Maybe a "fix what we got first" kinda mentality. Maybe we find out some things along with way (like the rampant abuse of the entitlement programs)

Dems projected to be 250+ in the house. First time since 2008. Maybe, just maybe, pointless ME wars are finally going to be too radioactive to instigate.

The Iran War will go down as the single dumbest political blunder in American history. Jimmy Carter's off the hook.
