The economy for the average Joe is worse now than a year ago. Not sure what you guys are seeing that says otherwise. Gas is still high. Grocery prices still high. Inflation still above where it should be. Energy cost are sky rocketing. Wages stagnant.
Here comes the "Blame it on Biden" posts in 3...2...1...The economy for the average Joe is worse now than a year ago. Not sure what you guys are seeing that says otherwise. Gas is still high. God, what a horrible thing. Trump used to be second to 'worst ever', only to Joe Biden. And pretty much the entire current democrat 'leadership'. But he's really, really working to win that top spot.
How is this even legal? Of course we bailed out the unions and other companies many times with 'loans' so not sure how much different.
But without knowing any details, I'll just say it sucks! Because my first instinct is nearly always awesomely correct.
Usually what happens is this shit stifles innovation and economic growth. Significantly. Government picking and choosing winners? Yeah, they have such a good track record.

Gas is fairly cheap everywhere I've been. We drove through NC and SC last week and it was $2.74 most places.
@dbmhoosier that's cheap? Go gas light somewhere else. Also it's still well over $3 here in NWI. And energy bills are up like 30% or more.

I wonder what they are doing down there. Nationwide, AAA says $3.13.
A quick search for prices in Bloomington has $2.99 to $3.20.
Indy shows the same range.
Looks like it is down from last summer but in line with the rest of the year .

Link? This one would suggest you're wrong, but it doesn't break it out for the Average Joe (and as I argued last year when Dems were touting the overall economy, that's an important thing to consider):The economy for the average Joe is worse now than a year ago. up some places down some places. re this thread a fight i had over and over was with bowl over "the economy." the economy and prices are not the same thing. "the economy" is great people would post over and over. it's really improving. but when avg joe heads to the grocery store and looks at prices he's not thinking "well good thing the economy is so good;" he's thinking why in the fck is a bag of chips six bucks. that was the case under biden and it is still the case under trump. prices. prices. prices. that's what impacts most people. biden spiked everything with his radical left wing agenda. voted his ass out. trump came in day one and said i will bring prices down. well he hasn't. and sooner or later that is going to get trump, just like it got biden. everything is too expensive for most people. two tiny garden variety steaks from an avg grocer over $50!
@mcm666 could you stop with prices going down. They are never going down. The system is literally designed to increase prices. Thank you for attention to this matter 😁
They are never going down.
i know. that's what was so devastating and destructive about bidenomics. once consumers are conditioned to paying higher prices there's zero chance corps will drop them. from policy to policy i don't see how any rational person could say we've had a worse administration than the biden admin

Steaks are high, so are vegetables. But we speak of the economy as a monolith and it isn't. If I live on Kraft Mac N Cheese, those items wouldn't be a big deal.
One can live in a community with only one murder, if that victim is close to one, that crime rate was 100% too high.
Unemployment shows as low, means nothing to the John Deere workers just laid off. They probably will find jobs, probably not for what Deere paid and maybe not in the community they want.
You seem to have the take I would suspect, you hated inflation under Biden and under Trump. Perfectly fair response. My take is not all the inflation was Biden's fault, nor is it all Trump's. Both made/make decisions to exacerbate the problem. But some is structural. I am concerned about the people who totally vindicate one and totally blame the other.
And I am very perplexed anyone favors the US owning part of a corp. Even i think that is a bad idea and I have been called a socialist on the Cooler. I have no issues with partnerships, ownership though? Wow.

i think the difference between this stuff and inflation is that eh that sucks but i don't know anyone who works at john deere. or unemployment inches up a percentage. you still might not know anyone impacted. inflation spares no one. now it may have a different impact obviously based on one's wealth but it is in the face of every single person every day. and to me that's why it's much more dangerous to a politician
as for ownership concur. i don't like that one bit. for myriad reasons
