It because of immigration. The party is much further to the left because the people we have imported the last 50 years are further left. It's why I get pissed off when people who say they are conservatives like twenty and JDB say they're for immigration. You're essentially turning the country over to a bunch of far lefties over the long run when you're for immigration. The only thing that matters currently is closing the border and deportations, which is also why the Iran War pisses me off. We might stop them from getting a nuke, but it won't matter because the country will be lost to socialists.

That's a terrible analogy. None of us has argued for unfettered illegal immigration. And Hispanic immigrants are much more moderate than you give them credit for.

It's amusing you think we are open-border promoters because we want higher levels of legal immigration. Then again, what would I expect from someone who knows less than the average high school kid about economic policies.
What is GSS? I'm not doubting the assumption, but I laughed at the idea that it was made up and that you acknowledge it as truth. I agree that importing lefties (see refugees) is not a winning policy. But, you also have to remember how much further left the Democratic party has gone over the past 30 years. It used to be controlled by moderates.
@jdb I trust the 2nd poster. He does a good job of correcting mistakes and trying to be as accurate as possible. Even if you think he is full of sh#t, it's extremely easy to look at polling data and see blacks, Asians, and Hispanics vote for Democrats more than the GOP. And I would argue the left has moved further to the left because we imported a lot of people who are further to the left. Lastly, the data is the data. We ran the experiment the last 30+ years and pretending/hoping it's going to change is really f#cking stupid in my opinion. There needs to be an immigration memorandum (or at least a drastic cut back) for 30-40 years like there was the previous century.

Also, I literally responded to you about a week or so ago making the case for market doing well moving forward. The only thing that has changed is it looks like Q3 GDP growth is going to be stronger and we're moving more oil through the strait.
