The housing sector ran up too much during Covid and needed to take a breather. Not to mention losing a few million people will make it soft and rates went up. It's not the entire economy. Side note, I think it's a terrible investment for the next 10+ outside of high end sh#t relative to other investments. The consensus on Q3 GDP is 2.5% currently and corporate earnings have been excellent. And during Biden's term inflation averaged around 5% compared to Trump which has been around 3. So, no Biden's economy was worse. And unemployment is 4.1%. Its easy to get job. Trump obviously hasn't been great, but he hasn't been terrible either. He gets a C and Biden an F.
