my daughters’ crew was over last night. They all made frosh lacrosse. No cut. Well now for next year the school changed it and it is cut. Their panic and discussion had me in tears laughing to myself in the kitchen and I couldn’t help but think it actually might be a simulation. Let’s capriciously make it a cut sport and watch their response and laugh and laugh and laugh.
My most recent example is the other day, I went to a downtown grocery store deli to make a purchase. It was busy, and only one worker behind the counter. Finally, the person in front of me got her turn, and instead of reading the room and realizing it was busy, she asked for a sample taste of the seafood salad. The lady behind the counter complied, and as she was handing her the sample cup with the little sample spoon, the customer DROPPED IT ON THE FLOOR. Instead of thinking,"I'm wasting everyone's time," she asked again for a sample. The worker got her another sample, and I shit you not, she DROPPED IT ON THE FLOOR AGAIN. After cleanup, and a third successful attempt, the lady decided against buying the product. I fully expected to hear laughing from behind the walls as I just stood there and stewed.
