@bradstevens seems that way. i don't know though. a lot of these schools have dumped a shitload into capital improvements etc. has to be paid

Starting work at 18 is already too late. College loans are a four-year vacation/party for people who haven’t worked a day in their lives.
Young people should be allowed to enter the full-time job market at age 13-14 if they so choose and can hold down a job.
@hhlurker I lived in team housing so was special! But the dorms at my college looked like cinder blocks. Now at some of these schools the dorms look like resorts. It’s nuts.
As a society we’ve gone from Great Expectations to safe spaces.I can’t imagine my kid just out in the world in two years. She’s a fing clown
When I was 7 years old I took my older sister’s potholder loom, made a handful of potholders and went to a nearby apartment building and sold them for a buck apiece. Then I went home and literally took my father’s typewriter and two sheets of carbon paper and typed three forms in one page so I could go door to door and ask the women what colors they wanted to match their kitchen.
My business only lasted a week because I moved on but I continued making money one way or another, paper routes etc.
That’s NORMAL. Our children’s futures were destroyed by child labor laws “protecting” them. Biggest psychotrap ever perpetrated on free American children until Ritalin in the 50s. (Benzedrine is the thirties was pretty bad too.)
As soon as the College liberal, never achieved on their own in anyway, saw that kids/ parents wer willing to pay $100k and the gov would foot another $100k.... Suddenly the rates went way up. Who ever in the world could have possibly saw that subsidies cause price increases? I mean it's never been experienced before. Like EVER.
if you want something fucked up and you also want to grift off of something, simply get government involved to forcibly spend other peoples money into your own bank account. It's quiet an amazing phenomenon, never seen 1 million times before.

I might be OK with this depending on how far out they look, and if they broke it down by major at a particular university. This is a good start. The government should get out of all college loans and turn it over to the markets.
Nothing more worthless in the market than a liberal arts degree. The govt should never be in this business. And student loans should be completely abolished for undergrad. Let colleges survive on providing scholarships for those most deserving.
