1. Districts should have the fewest amount of county splits as possible
2. If the county has to be split then townships should remain intact
3. Districts should be as compact as possible
4. Those should be the only rules…unless you approve of gerrymandering
I have no problem to setting AI down with nothing but population maps and have it draw districts based on even population and compactness. If we want to add in counties and townships, fine. No race, religion, age, voting patter data, gender, nothing else.
My point above was that in 1982 it was a bipartisan vote in Congress signed by a Republican president that specifically said outcomes not intent. And yet we are told Democrats have rocketed left and Republicans believe exactly the same.

I guess we would have to have some definition on what “rocketed left” means
I have always adhered to the policy that when I am in error I quickly admit it and thank the person who provides added information so that I can learn. I value correctness and factual support. You should try it.

That's precisely what both Brad S and I suggested. Glad we all agree 100%. AI can do that easily, with no inputs whatsoever on racial demographics, voting history, etc. Merely, the input is where people live and how many people, then make districts as contiguous and compact as the math allows.

I agreed with your post…I’m not sure what your problem is on this occasion. I asked Hickory his opinion…you see what I received…crickets

Sorry, my dig should have been directed at Brad or Caramrod, who give out the laughing emoji on every post. Then Brad anyway makes posts proposing the same ideas that I did and that he had laughed at.

I will say on my phone my likes often show up as laughing. Then it is a fight to change it. It is annoying.

Not every. Just the ones where you try to play lawyer and fail miserably.

"Beyond a reasonable doubt." LOL.
I find it hilarious that the guy who made it a point to "thumbs down" every murt post when we first came over here is now whining about people giving him a laughing emoji on some of his posts.

Wait, people can actually use the thumbs down option? I usually get the mad face when I try and press it.

Next time you and Serena run into each other at the curb on trash day, tell her I said hello and think she's looking great.
