@bradstevens Stop it. Who do you trust more Colin Cowherd or Ben Johnson? Johnson had his pick of jobs for the last two off seasons. Could have gone anywhere he liked, to mold any quarterback he liked. He chose Caleb who he played two different games against.

Excited for my middle daughter to be starting her freshman year at Loyola.  How do you Chicago guys feel about the area up there?  Any words of wisdom to pass around?  I know if they take the subway they plan to go as a group.  I felt pretty good about the area.

I"m a believer in Ben Johnson. I'm not a believer in Caleb.  Hope he proves me wrong.

That's the risk, for sure.

I haven't spent much time up there, but have never heard bad things about crime or anything like that.  Trains between Rogers Park and downtown aren't the worst.  Andersonville is a neat spot when you visit and not too far from there. Also, I'd recommend visiting the Baha'i temple up in Wilmette. It's open to the public and beautiful.

@bradstevens Daughter moved to West Loop about a year ago, and loves it.  We have visited several times, and love it.

Fulton Market area is great.

@carramrod Your dislike is invalid, because you are both kind of a douchebag and a dumbfuck.

Sorry.

@eppy99 Catholic school eh? Interesting choice king Jew. Should have chosen DePaul, much safer neighborhood.

Rogers Park crime is super spotty, it was BAD during and immediately post Covid but so was everywhere. Still Rogers Park was jarring as it had always been safe, especially near the university.

I will say it has the funniest crime in the city, leftist freaks that all voted for Brandon getting stuck up and robbed by car loads of West side kids constantly.

Probably the least safe neighborhood on the north side or close to it.

Still, that puts it at or a little below average city wide. Just don’t go north of Howard, or west of Clark… decent amount of gang activity. But very few murders these days. You’re good chief.

@carramrod my kids went to a Jewish day school and Jesuit High school.  What can I say…

Thanks for the tips.  I’ll have a discussion.

@mcm666 2 out of the house (IU, Loyola) and 1 to go.  #3 wants to attend the Naval Academy or West Point.  She hit Annapolis this summer for a STEM camp and had a great time.  Making a family trip next summer to West Point and see my dad's old stomping ground in Jersey.
