that formula is not working for as many people anymore. It's still possible but diminishing by the year. Cost of living vs wages is all relative. You're not going to make 300k at a car rental place in the middle of nowhere Indiana. You'd be lucky to make 60k.
The Average salary in Indiana is 75k. The Average home in Indiana is 250,000k. That doesn't work.
Oh and the average salary and average home prices didn't get this way because of trannies and socialism.
It’s because the price of everything has been artificially increased due to government intervention under the guise of helping. Start with the cost of college then move onto healthcare and on and on.
yep. Corrupt capitalism in the form of corporate welfare. The people passing those laws and creating those subsidies are apart of the same 1% that own the corporations that are getting the subsidies.
I agree with Trump that we should not be subsidizing private healthcare. I just don't agree with fucking people out of their healthcare all of a sudden and without a plan for them.
@mrhighlife enterprise regional managers make up to a mil year all over the Midwest. And if you’re living in the middle of nowhere Indiana cost of living is cheap. People don’t want to work. Advance. On and on.
nobody wants to wait 10-15 years putting in the effort. Now now now. And they’ll job hop like crazy. First job that offers more they leave. Those enterprise reg mgrs have done every job in the org outside of HR on the way up.
@mrhighlife you couldn’t live in Newport Beach either. Move. I just don’t have much sympathy unless you’re stupid or disabled. The life path can be done with hard work. I’m at the hospital literally explaining it to my daughter as we speak. Bc she’s captive.
high school. Work hard. Get okay grades. Go to college or trade school.
get degree. Or trade. Go to work.
pick spouse. Who works. Stay married.
by 35 you will be comfortable.
by 50 rich.
problems are self made. You should not need welfare unless you’re stupid disabled or live in a place you shouldnt
The phrase “work hard” is the difference now. Young folks are unwilling to do so & many feel that if they go to school, etc they should immediately be able to have it all. Can’t afford Manhattan, tough shit, live somewhere else. I don’t hear @larsiu complaining or voting for socialists because he can’t afford Zionsville.
This is a good article on why rates are increasing. Hospital costs are rising, new cancer and weight loss/diabetes drugs are very expensive, they plan for drug costs to go up due to tariffs, and 4% is because they expect the subsidies to go away and healthy people to drop out because of that.

kids today work harder than ever...at schooling. They are doing school work and school activities 24/7. They didn't create that system/culture. It was forced upon them. Is it any wonder they come out of college expecting faster gratification? WE stopped asking for sweat equity.
Also, you used to be able to get a job out of college that paid the bills, including a mortgage. If you didn't go to college their were factory jobs that did the same. The entry level jobs paid the bills. So of course you got comfy where you were at. No need to leave. That is evaporating and non existent anymore. Is it any wonder why the younger people job hop like they do?

Now do marriage and fatherhood. Also can be done with hard work.
Populism comes in many forms, and isn't an either/or proposition when it comes to capitalism, socialism or even communism. Mamdani is a self-avowed socialist and his platform represents that from top to bottom. He may have used populist messaging to get the job, but it will be the trappings of socialism (aka free shit) that keeps him there...of course until the problem that always arises with socialism rears it's ugly head and he runs out of other people's money to pay for it all.
There’s no free stuff. (I know you know).
Also, there are no solutions, only trade offs. That goes for welfare programs and laissez-faire capitalism, too.
They are doing school work and school activities 24/7.
more than we ever did. Summer college credits, ap courses at all time of the year, constant test prep, and don't get me started on sports. They never have a break. No time for a summer job. No time to help around the house. We do it to them. We created this culture that "my kid is the greatest and I need them to be in every activity to show people". Probably because our boomer parents were the exact opposite.
@mrhighlife you can go to a juco. Then UMSL Get a degree for under $25k. Then go rent cars and by 32 make $300k a year. I don’t understand how it doesn’t work.
people make bad choices. Lord knows I’ve made a ton. Or they don’t want to work.
Not everyone can do that. If everyone could, the salaries wouldn’t be 300k
