@unclemark wjy are you laughing at coh. Why are you laughing at any of this. What was done in mass makes zero sense. From any perspective. Are you just a cackling hickory stripped of the ability to think at this point? Dems are for it so I am too? Did you have a stroke? You didn’t used to be this way
use your words and explain your position and what you think is funny.
im not bowl. I have a sense of humor. I love to joke. None of this is funny.
Got it. I understand his logic. My point is that carrying the fetus to term is also painful, likely more painful.Thats not the argument CoH was making. He was saying one point you can draw the line on when you should abort a fetus is its ability to feel pain. Once that occurs, no abortions should occur.Pls share with me your flawless logic for aborting a fetus that is “suffering pain.”
That’s just plain not true. What was done in mass makes zero sense. From any perspective.
When doctors are afraid to do what they consider medically correct because they don’t want to get sued, there’s a problem. This law gives them cover to do their job. You just don’t trust them because WOKE!
The chances the new mass law will lead to what you’re fearmongering about is unlikely. Late-term abortions are unhealthy for women and especially in Mass they are free to get abortions earlier when it is far safer for them.
Your soapboxing is becoming comical.
@hhlurker your posting is comical. You’ve obviously either not read or don’t understand the law. The prior law GAVE THEM THAT COVER! It already existed. Drs knew the circumstances under which they could perform an abortion. Now they have cover to do anything they want including agree to kill a 38 week healthy baby without consequence. Why? Bc abortion is legal without limitations. They can simply think a woman’s body a woman’s right. And they insulated from liability. The baby doesn’t have standing
my god dude. Clueless. Why are you unable to understand the very simplest of concepts? Do you not know how to find the law? So you’re just doing your thing where you’re old man talking?
oh and WOKE is why the law was changed from reasonable to ridiculous.
@hhlurker you’re just guessing. And talking. You have no clue about any of it. Haven’t researched. Don’t know. Just gabbing. Ridiculous
I don’t understand your argument. The new law permits aborting (killing) a healthy full term infant.
@co-hoosier exactly. It’s truly that simple. @jdb i think this is the disconnect maybe lurker mark and others are having. Coh is absolutely right. If abortion is legal it’s legal. There’s now no difference between 5 weeks and 40. Or 22 weeks the period of recognized viability. If a woman presents saying she wants an abortion and a dr believes it’s her body her choice the law doesn’t prohibit him from aborting. And there’s no greater collection of weirdos than doctors.
now. In the real world. How often will this come up? Probably rarely. But if it’s once that is awful.
and the law itself is vile
When doctors are afraid to do what they consider medically correct
This is the point. Killing a healthy full term infant is now medically correct because of this law.

I don't necessarily disagree with anything you've said here, but have medical licensing boards weighed in on this law yet? They might have stricter/higher standards that go beyond the legal issues/ramifications. I haven't looked it up yet - so I don't know the answer to that question - but I'd have to think that the medical profession will still have high standards and guard rails for performing abortions.
I agree that this law seems to open the door to a doctor going rouge and performing a seemingly needless late-term abortion, but as you said, I think that will be extremely rare (and I'm not saying there is any excuse for those rare cases). I tend to err on the side of trusting physicians and the medical profession on complex medical issues. I've done advocacy work with and for physicians in some shape or form since 2011 and generally speaking, most legislators have a lot to learn about the medical profession. And I know this is anecdotal, but I don't know any physicians or medical professionals who actually want to perform an abortion at any stage in a pregnancy. No one celebrates it.
@ohio-guy AMA doesn’t recommend it. But in a med mal case that’s useful but not dispositive. Depends what other experts in the field say.
as for the medical boards I don’t know.
I agree that this law seems to open the door to a doctor going rouge
Abortion under this law is not going rouge.

Licensing boards are under government authority. They can’t have a standard higher than state law. Board certifications are different. You could have a point there.
You didn’t used to be this way
Yes he was. I still remember what he said about his own parents.
Do you mean about what Rush and Fox News did to them? What makes you think you know more about that dynamic than I do?
I also remember what you've said about Goat and his family situation.
@co-hoosier i don't remember any of that nor really care to be honest. i just meant he used to think and be rational. his posts in this thread and emojis are ridiculous. lurker as well. as you correctly noted the law is unequivocal. the prior provided standards. the present none.
