That show is a long way from its origins. Mike Wallace, Harry Reasoner, Morley Safer, and even Dan Rather, for the most part, were all equal opportunity bulldogs. It's been a one-sided propaganda arm for years now. It really became apparent to me during the Bush years. Burn it down and start over. Maybe I'll watch again.

It averages over 9 million viewers per episode on linear TV (up 9% this past season) with millions more watching clips/segments on YouTube and other digital platforms. The show is consistently in the Top 10 of all network programming. Clearly, this shakeup isn't about ratings or money; it's about ideology.
The alliance of the Ellisons, Trump and Weiss is all-in on turning CBS News into state TV.

@bradstevens he deserves to. he's so much better than 60 minutes. it's not even close in terms of quality. he's fantastic. he just lets people come in and talk. you decide. a mixed martial artist pothead body builder could run circles around these "educated" "journalists."
