@goat I’m not sure this year, honestly. I know they will be well coached but I’m pretty sure we are taking a big step back talent wise.
I was surprised that so many of the gals hit the portal. I can understand why Garzon felt she had to leave. The others? This isn't a situation that CTM has had to manage.
I am curious how she will deal it. In the past, she has had a strong nucleus. Who is she going to build around now?
I'm with you here. This just made no sence to be from the outside looking in. The others i think were told they were not good enough. But in hindsight CTM may have secured better talent before putting the run to the current team. JMO.

My concern is CM has not parlayed IU success into recruiting success. And eventually that will come back to haunt her (see Tom Crean). Add to that her inability to get top players from Indiana and surrounding states. I hope I am wrong, but I see a decline over the next few seasons. Again, I hope I am totally wrong.
From reading posts at the previous place, I am under the impression that she felt she did not have the universities backing on an incident(s?). If that is indeed what occurred, I can understand.@zekeus Garzon is the ONLY one I didn’t understand.
That may have been a factor, but I'm more inclined to think it's more about money. Getting foreign players paid is complicated due to their visa status (see Edey). I'm thinking that MD was able to work around that better than we were willing/able to.
