If kicked the tires means a phone call to May agent. Mightve.
Agent: We are talking 8 million plus to get him to move... Dolson: I was thinking 6?
IU had a one -year window to land May. Once he got to Michigan, it was game over. Tbh, I still can't comprehend why people thought it was possible. Let's be real: Michigan is a far better basketball program right now.
Yep. I suppose IU isn't officially dead, but what are the odds this team beats Minnesota, OSU, and wins a game or two in the BTT to snag a bid? Hell, they might not win another game.I would take 20-11; 11-9 - would be the first time in awhile IU had a winning BT record! would def get us in - I think the conf. get 10-12 bids, and we sweep the west coast trip, and win out at home
10-12 bids seems way high.
I would say the big ten gets 9 seeds.
During the search, I recall many saying IU was still a Top 5-10 job in college basketball. Not. Even. Close. The Hoosiers are basically a shinier version of Minnesota ... and it's all self-inflicted.
Tourney chances after back to back home losses....25%.
That would be 30% if I had seen even one player cut across the lane or one screen away from the ball to get open, or one pick away to get a Alexis iso post position.
But as bad as the offense was vs MSU, I dropped them to 25%.
Visions of Marshall Strickland and Bracey Wright out there today. Standing around. Forcing things. Launching 30 foot shots left and right.
@gerdis 2001 we played in the BTT championship game against Iowa. F*@$ing Luke Recker
Quite possible the 2026 post season future for IU will be with the 2026 College Basketball Crown tournament. I saw this in Fox Sports.
"The 2026 Crown Tournament field will feature the top two teams from the Big Ten, Big 12, and BIG EAST conferences that do not receive NCAA Tournament bids."
The major conferences are apparently supporting this Crown deal in lieu of the NIT.
--- Not sure I'd watch the Hoosiers if they play in this thing. ---
@bigmike Yeah I think the deal the conferences have is if a team declines a Crown invite, they can't accept any other post-season (i.e. NIT) invite. Kinda sucks because it is clearly just a TV tournament, it's played in a hotel ballroom FCS.

I predicted they would go 8-12 in the big ten. I may end up being off one game but given the Wisconsin miracle win in part due to the refs I was pretty much spot on. But hey according to guys on some other sites all is well and according to plan.
There's some turd teams in the Big Ten, many who have some continuity and had longer to build. Amazingly we're still right in the middle of the standings.
Win these last two and be 10-10! I don't think we will. But if we did that it wouldn't feel so bad.
Lunardi is a lot more optimistic than I am! Having us in, currently? Wow.
Hmm, if we can somehow win the 2 to finish the regular season, then win 1 ... I guess we have a chance.
I half expect the team to tank these last two. No sign of giving up yet, but it has to be shaking their belief in what they are doing.
Interesting to see that WVU is having a near identical season to us despite having half our NIL and resources and also losing their entire roster and coaching staff.
@arioznahoosier4554 You might still end up being right. The way we're playing right now, would not surprise me one bit if we lost to Minnesota at home. And I fully expect us to lose in Columbus.
