Gun to my head, I'll say loss, win, loss for 9-11. If that's the case, IU's only chance would be to reach the BTT title game, imo.
The Bubble may be soft, so I understand that perspective. But so is IU's résumé. It's quite possible the Hoosiers finish the regular season with only two Quad 1 wins. I'm sorry, but that's pathetic. Woody's shitshow had four last season.

They are going to have to go 2-1 there is almost no chance they make the big ten title game I think that would require three straight wins. The only big ten title game we ever made was with Mike Davis - we are really bad in the BTT.
Two things have become disappointing constants with this program: hoping we'll be on the right side of the bubble, and hoping that this is the year we'll finally make a run in the BTT.
Lunardi is about as credible and accurate as a demented aardvark, but he currently has IU as the "Last Team In."
Means nothing and should definitely be taken with a grain of salt, but worth noting.
Addendum: OSU (and USC) among the "First Four Out." As @hoosiers94 mentioned a while back, the OSU game will be massive ... if both teams do enough between now and March 7th that is actually matters.

Hmm, looks like semi final is the best we’ve done. So, Woody seems to have done the best with back to back semis?
- Best Finishes: Semifinal appearances, with the most recent trips occurring in 2022 and 2023.
- All-Time Record: The Hoosiers hold a 17-26 record in the tournament as of March 2025.
- Recent History: IU has struggled to advance deep in the tournament in recent years, often falling in the quarterfinals or earlier, with a 2025 tournament exit following a loss to Oregon.

I think IU finishes the regular season 1-2 and goes 1-1 in the BTT. That would equate to 19-14. Ugh.
That written, it's not so much this season that disappoints me, it's the prospects for the future. I realize we have little idea what future rosters will look like, but I have a question: Who GENUINELY believes DD will get this program on track in '26-'27 and beyond?
Despite my ramblings, I don't think he's a bad coach. But to me he seems like a 20-11 type of guy: decent floor but low ceiling.

CHICAGO (AP) – Like any kid growing up in Indiana, Brody Boyd dreamed of playing for the Hoosiers and winning Big Ten titles.
Boyd has his conference title, but it came at the expense of the Hoosiers.
After averaging just five points a game during the regular season, Boyd scored 22 points Sunday as Iowa beat Indiana 63-61 to win the Big Ten tournament.
Reggie Evans blocked Kirk Haston's last-second 3-pointer to give Iowa (22-11) the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. |

I pretty much said what you did not a bad coach but probably be like a fran from Iowa type. Usually get like 20-22 wins and finish middle of the pack in big ten. Will probably make the tourney most years but will never really challenge to go far. I just do not see him getting the type of guys Michigan has and that is what you will need to made a serious run.
If you think IU fans are dejected now, just wait until Michigan wins the National Championship. If that occurs, I'd be fine if Woody and Quinn were forever banned from entering the state of Indiana.
Though I don't remember much, I was alive while both played at IU. Sadly, I only see them as two ass holes who torpedoed the program, not great players. In my mind, THAT is their IU legacy.
I would have no problem if hiring Woody was anywhere close to rational, but when a moron forces a hire of someone who Bellarmine wouldn't even consider, that's just too much for me. Although Archie's tenure sucked, at least the hire made sense at the time.
If it had to be an "IU guy," why the f--- was it Woody? Oh yeah, he's Quinn's butt buddy.

If the goal was to hire someone better than Woody, mission accomplished. The same could be said if IU had hired Kermit the Frog. In other words, in no world was the hire NOT going to be an improvement over Cigar Boy.I think IU finishes the regular season 1-2 and goes 1-1 in the BTT. That would equate to 19-14. Ugh.

I would pay good money to know how the search went down. I'm not fully literate in reading tea leaves, but it's quite possible Dolson locked in on DeVries before Woody was even "retired." Again, I consider DD to be a decent coach, but if he's the best IU can do, that's f---ing alarming.

The bar was so low hiring someone better was not going to be hard. Honestly if there was no portal woodson could not buy players and it would have been even more ugly since he does not recruit or built rosters. We will never know for sure but I still find it hard to believe IU went through a list of people saying no and settled on DD. If you want a really top notch guy you have to pay up and I just do not think IU was willing to pay 9 million a year to get a guy like that imo. I guess we will see this spring just how much money they are willing to spend on this program.

I know for a fact they did not call Scott Drew
Some here say its not true, but it sure seemed to me that Dolson had DeVries in his sights before the Woodson announcement was made. Scott got his man.
For Coach, it has to seem like the best gig. Its Indiana, and weve been middling or worse for so long he had to figure it wouldnt take much to win us over. Instead, weve been middling or worse for so long, the natives are restless.
He might succeed. It aint over by a long shot.

That's what I've heard as well. He obviously kicked the tires on Stevens, Dusty, Otz, etc but when it was obvious that wasn't happening he completely zeroed in on DeVries. I've never understood why.
I don't think we have a prayer at winning at OSU. Have to win today and beat Minnesota to get in.
