@iugradman gee, i'm sure Dolson had no idea about that guy. Again, thats over. Woodson/Buckner screwed the university and May will never coach here.
You people are absolutely insane to think we didn't contact Dusty May, the guy Dolson literally wanted to fire Woodson for and hire after year 3.
Dear lord.

Dear lord.
As always a day late its the IU way. We missed out on many guys by waiting. Matta. Brad Stevens. I know its just par for the course and Michigan got two great coaches we could of had. Beilen and May.
It the last four seasons May is 98-23.
Football school. I'm more excited about the football transfer portal and spring practice than I am about MBB.

Yep. The portal will be fast and furious. If the season ends when we all want it to end, it'll be like 6-8 weeks until spring ball.
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
@arioznahoosier4554 The style of play is more exciting
IU has a talent deficit that has to be addressed. Then we will laugh at all of Devries jokes.
While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon

The chances of this team making the NCAA are not good imo from what I have seen so they will have an early jump on the portal. He better just kill it or next year will not be any different.

no chance we make the tourney. None

I was trying to be kind so as to not be called a doomer but you are correct most likely.
@hoosiers94 No chance IU makes the tourney, you say? I respectfully disagree. I believe the T in NIT stands for "Tournament," so there's still a chance.
I see no way to win consistently without a big. We will shoot people out of the gym at times, but that cannot be the only weapon. It is also a big liability on the defensive end (no pun intended). I have a hard time getting into this team and coach, particularly being involved in football this late in the season and traveling all over the country for games.

Yes, to be still watching IU Football in January has certainly divided our attention.
I don't know if its that, or all our accumulated lack of success and terrible coaching hires (I don't include Devries in that group, yet) but something about college basketball in general seems less interesting now. It's old news of course but I still dislike the shot clock or at least wish it was longer. It forces poor desperation plays too often and I would rather see more interesting play even with lower scoring. Then there's officiating. Traveling is rarely called. Is carrying even a violation anymore? Moving screens missed frequently. And then NIL, portal, these players are just hired guns, many aren't even really students, and it's hard to feel loyalty and support for them the way we used to when they come and go every year. Or maybe I'm just getting old.
@ams66 I think the interest issue has multiple layers and one of them is the success of football.
Others are:
1) There's very little connection to the players from a fan perspective (basically all portal guys and new)
2) The recent "Check-in" games (Louisville, UK, Nebraska) have not gone well.
3) I believe people underestimated the level of apathy from the end of the Woodson era and people are just checked out. Even when IU was bad, the fans usually showed up to games. That's not the case.
4) I know this drove one former member off the rails, but College Basketball as a whole has become a January-April sport (and January is being kind). With all the emphasis on the postseason. There were some really good matchups early in the regular season that went so far under the radar that I didn't know they were happening until halftime of games.
5) Big Ten officiating is making games unwatchable. There are halves and games where there is no flow, calls change from half to half and it's just awful to watch.
So, I agree with all your points.
