As a Hoosier nestled in Lower Alabama, I'm really enjoying the disappointment and criticism about losing the big man.  Go Hoosiers!

No it doesnt feel right. Big time pro sports now, not college.

But it has been big money pro sports for a very long time, they just didnt pay the players.

@drjb Yeah, but not even close to the same levels.

Like buying a guy a few Big Macs vs a house.

Positive lean back to round ball.  Dolson's chops on display.  My expectations keep elevating for the next commit.  Now let's have the tip.

Funny comment on Reddit was - Isnt it amazing in the NIL era that everybody in both football and basketball is now nervous because Indiana finally decided to play hardball.

LOL

Its mostly about money now and the ones i feel bad for all the cinderella programs that have made elite 8 and final fours before. That is likely not happening anymore and hasnt the last few years. If you go off at a mid major with nil you are gone the next year a big dog will pay you and the small guys will just have a very hard time keeping any good players. They will just have such a hard time keeping guys for four years in they have a great year and get noticed.

But even if it wasn't us, he was still leaving Alabama for bigger money.

He was definitely leaving to go somewhere he can showcase his, ie, not play the 5 as much. Think he would’ve committed on his visit but we didn’t have “The Turkish Tower” yet and again, didn’t want to get locked into playing the 5. Once we got Samet, he probably decided then

No real thread going about who we got other than the portal thread. So I'll post this thought here. OK, I know it's highlights, and the shit misses don't make the highlights.

But what I keep noticing on our guys, especially the guards, is finishing thru contact! We did that about 20% of the time last year. And I think I am being generous... LOL . Saw Lindsay make a good drive, get bumped while in the air, AND HE MADE IT! Burton, well he clearly lives to try to draw contact and finish.

I think that part will be a welcome change. Last year we'd get bumped and the shot would hit the underside of the rim.

Edit: Wilkerson excepted, in my rant. He could finish.

@arioznahoosier4554 Absolutely.  I love seeing IU rise up in football with opportunities thanks to a great coach, massive alumni base, and wealthy donors, but as you said G5 schools are screwed.  And that's a shame. Kids never going to the NBA or NFL can make more on the bench at Texas than starting at Southern Miss.  Used to be you'd have senior led teams in the G5 and the back up at Tenn wanting to get exposure so he'd go play at APP St now forget it.  Rather have the money than exposure
