@all4you I just prefer winners, good teammates, and guys that die for the love of the game.  To each their own Smile

You realize that Langford played all year for IU with a hand injury (on his shooting hand) that required surgery and actually hurt his draft stock by playing for the Hoosiers.

He was advised to have the surgery instead of playing college basketball and then to prepare for the NBA draft and there is absolutely no question Langford would have gone significantly higher than he already did had NBA teams not seen Romeo struggle to shoot the basketball for IU.

Langford was still a top 2 player at IU that year. I'm not exactly sure what you wanted from the kid.

You realize the only reason he got drafted in the lottery was the excuse of the hand.  You know, they thought his hand was why he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.  He is out of the league because Danny and Brad didn't read my posts.  Wasn't the hand, he is a shitty shooter, and no motor to match.

From Wikipedia: “Langford, who was ESPN's No. 1 shooting guard in the Class of 2018 and Indiana's Gatorade Player of the Year, played one college season in his home state at Indiana University. Langford tore a ligament in his thumb in late November at IU, but continued to play through the injury. Langford was named Big TenFreshman of the Week four times. He averaged 16.5 points per game, the highest among Big Ten freshmen and the third highest all-time among Indiana University freshmen, behind Eric Gordonand Mike Woodson.”

Langford far from sucked at IU and even with a torn ligament in his shooting hand, he was the best player on IU’s team and finished second team All-Big 10. Freshman of the week 4 times? Averaged over 16 ppg and Tamar Bates, who couldn’t even start at IU was better? Have you been drinking your breakfast?

Sure, the NBA thing didn’t work out for him because Langford wasn’t a good enough shooter, just like Jalen Hood-Schifino, TJD, etc but Langford gave IU all he had and was a very good player, just like JHS, during his short time in Bloomington.

The hate for him is laughable.

I said Tamar would be better than Romeo in his career.  Right now he is better than Romeo.  Today, right now, the present. He has an nba contract and Romeo doesn’t.  Not sure this is a debate anymore unless Romeo plays in the league again.  Currently he is ok the couch.

Dude WTF? Bates "has a nba contract?" He wasn't even drafted. Race Thompson "had a nba contract." Both of them have about the same chance at making an NBA roster and sticking in the league.

Holy shit.

Can Tamar defend?   They need to merge these 2 players into 1 and you might have a decent NBA SG.  Meanwhile Romeo continues to work on his shot in France.

@plaxico80 everything you just said is wrong.  Race got a gleague contract not a 2 way deal.  Tamar will play in nba games next year.  Wanna bet on that?

He probably didn't sign for multiple seasons and will attempt to get back to NBA.  Wonder if he will be on a summer league team.  I'd look for him to sign a Euro deal in October if he pleases you and fails on his NBA attempt again.

@cavanagh when you say Bates will play in NBA games next season, do you mean games that will actually count?

Looking at Romeo vs Bates at this point in time doesn’t make sense — they’re at different points in their careers.  We’ll see if Bates can have a pro CAREER than exceeds Romeo’s (doubtful).

@cavanagh Put a smile on my face with this being the first post I see on the new board.  In the words of Jimmy V, “Don’t give up.  Don’t ever give up” Cav!

regular season games yes.  Again, last year guys that signed these dels appeared in 20-25 regular season games.   They don't give these contracts out to dudes they don't expect to be on the roster playing games.

Gladly bet he plays in games next year

I had to look and see who Bates signed with. He literally signed with the worst team in the entire NBA so I actually agree with you, he'll get a shot.

Dude will fail miserably because he isn't good enough to play in the NBA, but the Nuggets are so bad, Bates might start there.

🤣
