I said this multiple times before. This tournament was to work on internal things for IU's team. how they prep for games, how they communicate and how they plant the seeds that need to grow into a team for the fall and winter.
And the extra practices and to get a feel for combinations of players. I'd say the freshmen showed something too. Regardless of the poor level of competition, I think this was a positive for the team.
As far as what Zach and Mike said, I'm talking about their comments coming out of open practices. Basically said there's no doubt this is a more talented and proven roster at the P4 level and should compete much better in the B10.
The tournament even though it was little more than practice time in an away location and competition was not against teammates is positive. kott offered very similar favorabilities for it that run through my head. I'm sure the intended goals of Devries for the trip were attained (like playing without Yigi). I'll continue to ride high until the ceiling height lowers. Go IU!
