When my youngest daughter was a toddler, I would have answered that question with a resounding "yes." She would have melting contests in the driveway during summer between, like, butter and crayons.Is butter regularly on your porch? LOL
Better true story: My family built and owned a Par 3 golf course (since sold to developers). I would take her to the 8th green in my parents' backyard and have chipping contests. At about 4 years old, this came out of her mouth after she buried a short chip: "You hit chip shots like a bastard." Two things: 1. It was her first swear word, and 2. She had zero clue what it meant. In any case, I was a proud papa. It's then that I knew she would tear anyone a new asshole if given the chance.
Damn I miss those days.

@middawg Purdue will be intent on NOT letting Lamar or Tucker get going. I think Dorn, and maybe Enright, and a guy like Sisley, are going to be very important tonight. Purdue's defense isn't foundationally good enough to keep Lamar and Tucker down for an entire game, if we're running our offense consistently. So if the other guys I mention can step up and make some shots to help them, Lamar and Tucker will get their opportunities to do what they can do, as well. And THAT will be how we beat them.
Obviously its very possible Purdue plays like they're on fire tonight, and there won't be a ton we could do to stop them from thumping us, if they do. But if we can weather any storm they have for us early, I still think the matchup is a good one, and we could beat them tonight.

Dorn has sucked for four straight games now.....4 for 23 over that span. In the two harshest road environments he was 0-3 on 3s v. UK and 0-4 v. Illinois. Odds are he will suck tonight. If he goes off we will have a shot at losing by only 12 or so.
Enright's the only guy on the team that can be effective guarding Smith. He won't get any calls tonight. Against Michigan, in 2nd half, , Smith got fouls called by jumping directing into the man guarding him as he drove. Enright will have 2 fouls within the first 9 minutes. So will DeVries. So will Wilkerson.
Bailey played well in the first game. He'll be meek as a lamb tonight.
Over/Under on dunks tonight.....5; over/under on dunks in Bailey's face....2
Purdue won't have to play like they're on fire in both halves to win easily.....either half will do......we haven't played well over the course of an entire game all year. They're not going to start tonight.

Some things that I would like to see happen as the Hoosiers double down with a fistful of house money.
1. Lamar goes full Steph Curry, 11-15 from three.
2. Tucker Devries shows us he can still be an elite scorer and puts up a 30 burger.
3. Dorn breaks out of his slump and catches fire once again.
4. No real first half foul trouble, 7 total first half fouls.
5. Play enough bench to play up tempo and speed Purdue up, forcing at least 12 turnovers.
6. "Inadvertent" elbow to Loyer's nose so he has to wear one of the plastic masks the rest of the season.
7. Ref crew let's both teams play to avoid a foul fest. And don't get baited by Loyer and TKR flopping around.
8. Enright outduels Smith once again, 10 assists and 2 turnovers.
9. Get a nice 10-15 first half lead to shut that crowd up.
10. Avoid the mid second half fade.
Purdue by 12 at HT. Second half is a dunk fest. Purdue 88-64.
Right here as well, although I underestimated our suckeness.
@mushroomgod Purdue gets an early comfortable lead, IU battles back, makes a game of it well in to the second half. IU has a chance to take it, but they struggle at the end to get stops and make shots. Lose by 8 or 9, or so.

No big reason to single Dorn out when the team gets whipped... But he has one of the most useless stat lines I have ever seen for a game. Goose eggs except one rebound, and three fouls. In 25 minutes! Two shots... 0-2 from 3pt range. In 25 minutes! How do you take two shots?! And do nothing else? And he looked exactly like that on the court, the stat line looks exactly like he looked.
Coach had better not read any stats this portal season. Use your eyes and pick some basketball players. Go to division 50 if you need. Somewhere in this vast country there are guys who can play a little.
Dorn can shoot when open. But never saw as useless floating around not shooting doing nothing as last night. Play basketball! Team loss, but go down swinging, geesh.

I knew Dorn would suck this game, but not entirely for the reason that someone else posted on here....namely, that he's a mid-major talent. While that is true, I knew he'd suck this game because he's a mid-major talent who played at North Florida before 1500 fans/game. The odds of him freaking out at Mackey were roughly 90%.
As far as CDD not reading any stats on next year's recruits.....as I pointed out in other posts in other threads, the stats of DeVries, Bailey, Alexis, Dorn, Conerway and Miles are all nearly the same, per minutes played, as they were at their former schools. And Wilkerson's are better. So the problem isn't that they've had trouble adjusting to better competition. Rather, its that they weren't good enough to play (other than TD & LW) at this level, then or now.
