Anything on the last open spot??
Anything on the last open spot??
I really wonder what is going on with this program.
It seems that the U has made the calculated decision that we can't be big-time in both football & basketball at the same time.
We're keeping up some appearances. Thus, the meaningless UNC scrimmage. When you go to a live game you are subjected to 5 minutes of hype about days gone by.
I see no urgency from the administration or the coaching staff. The standard is "good enough". "Good enough" given our current coach is borderline top 25 and 6-7 in the BT. Managed expectations. Managed decline.
When Rabjohns tweeted to the effect that "our roster is complete" months ago I saw this coming. But few took him at his word. Why would a BT program with resources be content to leave the roster as it was? That's a good question, and I've laid out my theory elsewhere.
There is only one ball.
Not too worried if the guy who touches it for 35 seconds a game isn't much.
Roster is a big upgrade. Now see if our guy can coach.
@openwheel I think its more than reasonable to be excited that we had the ability to spend more money, and to land more talent, this portal cycle than we did last portal cycle... but then to also be concerned that for whatever reason there appears to be a fairly hard cap on the spending, essentially locking us out of pursuing any of the impactful guys that came available later in the process. And that we're pretty thin, again, up front... at a time when most of the elite level programs are stock piling post talent and depth.
