Enjoy the next 6 years folks.
20-25 minutes of good play in a 40 minute game. Talent is there, but it's inconsistent. And no killer instinct when the opportunity is there. Officials in this case didn't help.
If the opponent is real, IU can't deal.
The team lacks the talent to be competitive in the Big 10. The schedule coming up in the next 6 weeks will not get easier. Keep in mind Hoosier Faithful, we have football.
Today is why I could not get excited about beating three bottom feeders until I saw us play a good team. I looked at my phone we are up 14 next time I look its tied. At least we got a football game left
@tjinman1987 Our staff and players need to react to it better. But I honestly think we win by 20, maybe 30 today with a consistent, evenly officiated game.
Illegal screen calls on IU, and not on Nebraska in first half was probably 10 points. And then that absolutely ridiculous stretch that sent Tucker to bench completely flipped the game. Again, IU needs to respond better. But when your best player gets sent to the bench with 4 fouls…make it tough.
And then after that…outside the call on Hoiberg…every missed call the rest of the game even, went Nebraskas way. No call on the obvious rebounding foul that led to a basket for them. Multiple obvious moving screens that led to 3s. Obvious missed hack at the rim on Nebraska, which led to numbers for Nebraska on other end and they hit a 3.
@arioznahoosier4554 we played well for long stretches. Should have closed it out. But officials 100 percent gave Nebraska a chance to get back in this game. IU is good. Nebraska is good. Both played pretty well overall. Refs gave Nebraska the game.
Guys have to play so many minutes they get worn out. Then the shots quit falling and the movement goes away and we are screwed. It is a war of attrition and we aren’t going to win many games getting hot for a 10 minute stretch with no depth. We play hard but we need dogs and we got puppies.
Did Coach get T-eed up, ripping them a new one for the calls? No?
Coach acts soft. Team takes on the identity of the coach.
We have nobody who can create a bucket when we need it. But yeah, couldve been in this to the end. Oh well. Lets do better next game.
I keep saying “we played well for long stretches”. I hope here soon the staff and players figure out how to not play like absolute shit for small stretches. It’s cost us 4 games now we could have, and/or should have won. I do think the refs helped decide this game. Actually I know they did. But they’re not playing the game. We could have still put them away. Keep moving and attacking offensively. Keep being engaged and energetic defensively. And we were gonna be good enough to overcome the officiating. So frustrating.
This program is perpetually stuck in neutral. This was a must win to make the tournament.
it's a Denny Green meme. This team is who I and some others of us thought they were. Great against Bethune Cookman and Penn St but can't stand toe to toe with good teams. Roster is flawed, guys who are our alphas are role players in the big ten. I will say Wilkerson played very well.
coaching is subpar
some adjustments just not enough and not enough in the keeping the team motivated and engaged. Except for Enright but it's innate with him.
@ams66 coaches and players can’t have the lulls and lapses. Just sucks though, because if they call that offensive foul on the foreign lefty, or since they missed that call don’t call the call on Tucker laying there, or after those calls, have some awareness and don’t call that offensive foul on Tucker. Any of those calls go differently, IU very likely puts them away and wins by 20.

because we don't have the stones to make the right hire at the right time we've grown accustomed to accepting mediocre results and calling them great.
something our football coach will not stand for
