Illinois shot an abysmal 7-31 from three and still won by a fifth of 100. That's sad. Thankfully, IU is already in the NCAAT according to many, so all is well.

It could be worse. We could have just lost to the worst team in the conference and then followed that up by getting beat by 20 at home.
Not sure what anyone expected. A road B1G game featuring a bubble team vs a potential FF team. Anyone thinking we had a prayer at keeping this close clearly doesn't know ball.
Are you referring to the team with 1/5th IU's NIL budget that bitch slapped the Hoosiers at AH?It could be worse. We could have just lost to the worst team in the conference and then followed that up by getting beat by 20 at home.

I expect more than just being on the bubble to make a 68 team tournament every year. Winning 19 games a season is purgatory.

Excuses, excuses. Just wait until Stirtz is gone.

Obviously but this is year 1. A year from now we'd better be solidly in the field. Probably headed towards a 4 seed.

I don't really get these strawmen arguments. Who says being a perennial bubble team is the goal of the program AND that everybody here is not only ok with it but excited about it?
Some think that might be okay in year 1, and expect an upward trajectory beyond that. Thats all.

heard that before ...
@dbmhoosier I don’t know why you think we are gonna be better next year. Is he gonna kill it in the transfer portal? We return dorn miles and Sisley. Right now those three wouldn’t start for Minnesota Rutgers or NW

Did he say it was going to happen? Seems like he's saying that is his ACTUAL expectation, not the strawman of "everybody on here expects us to be a bubble team every year and is thrilled about it" nonsense.
@dbmhoosier Such a low expectation loser mentality.
Low expectation loser mentality to expect an NCAA tournament birth in year 1 when the coach had to replace an entire roster and staff. Then expecting a Sweet 16 in year 2 and much bigger things in year 3. Some of you guys are clinically insane I swear. You're probably the same idiots that buy scratch offs with all your savings because you aren't patient enough to let a 401k grow.

Are they publishing NIL budgets now?

heard that before
Both are true, which is the sad thing. It's been a 20 year cycle of "this is year one" or "we have injuries" or "it was a weak portal year" or name your other reason, all of them true, for why we are clinging to bubble hopes coming down the stretch.
I do have a feeling this time we're heading in the right direction, but that again, is a "heard that before."
