Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
Conerway and his hair, makes me think of Fred Sanford after a long night and too much Ripple.
Divorce BEFORE you make any money! Do it quickly, do it often!
Indiana leads 17-9 at the first MTO. Tucker DeVries with the rare 4-point play for IU's first points, Conerway with a three-point play, a triple for Wilkerson and one for Sisley...good offensive start for the Hoosiers.
Something to keep an eye on, Bethune-Cookman's isolation sets and dribble-drive action. How well does IU keep guys in front of them on deliberate drives?
28-13 Indiana at the second MTO. IU is shooting the three well but they are really killing BCU in transition. Just zero resistance as the Hoosiers spread the court and then slice the Wildcats with cuts for layups, dunks or open triples. Sisley with seven points, DeVries playing very well (7), Conerway with 7.
37-17 at the 8-minute MTO. Indiana is getting basically whatever they want on the offensive end. 12 assists on 14 made buckets for the Hoosiers. Conerway leads with 9 points but basically everyone is getting involved.
somebody please explain to me the rational behind taking 30' shots vs 23?
48-19 at the final MTO of the first half. This is beautiful basketball by the Indiana Hoosiers. I know the opponent isn't great (they did take Auburn to overtime though) at all but IU is playing so unselfishly and fluidly. 14 assists on 16 made baskets, 7 made three-pointers, everything at the rim or from beyond the arc (or at the foul line). Gorgeous.
bad habits will come back to haunt
I don't know if Wilkerson or DeVries are any less accurate at 30' than 23'.
Not arguing though. Those shots might be ill advised against better teams.
51-23 at halftime, all Hoosiers. 12 for Tucker DeVries, 9 for Conerway, 8 for Sisley and IU with 15 assists on 17 made buckets. Really fun half of basketball for Darian DeVries' crew and they are 20 minutes from a 7-0 start.
For context, Bethune-Cookman is 224th in KenPom, behind Milwaukee by only 9 spots, one spot ahead of Wofford and just 25 spots behind Incarnate Word.
63-27 at the first MTO of the second half. Exquisite passing and the Hoosiers stay focused coming out the locker room.
Glad we didn't see another slow start like IW or Lindeman games.
