@jj_mcclure Sure there is. Butler packed Hinkle for this game, it was a really good environment. The fans were in to the game, quite a bit, especially early on, from what I've heard from some that were there. Obviously there's no reason to make sweeping judgements on what it means for this IU team. But its pleasing to see them go in, handle their business, and put away Butler at Hinkle. Just like it would have been very displeasing if it had went the other way.
But, to your point, these scrimmages, especially the early ones like this... are really glorified practices. Handling the environment is really the only tangible thing I'm taking from this, good or bad. Same for Carolina, same for WKU.
But... seeing the difference in our size, length, and overall athleticism, versus last years team, was evident from the first couple minutes of the game. He obviously has to coach them up, but in terms of roster building... CDD, and the staff, have done a good job getting IU back on the right track of having the proper elements to compete in the B10, and nationally. I knew that was probably the case, on paper, just knowing who the players were. Its different, and nice, to see it in action though.

No idea how good they’ll be yet, but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen an IU team with this much size.
I did not see any of it but saw butler is picked to finish almost dead last in its conference so I think IU probably needs to play a much better team before any real observations can be made about how good they may be.

They haven’t played that well. Unless they hit another gear, Ohio State will win. But Cignetti has at least proven he can win at a high level, unlike the basketball program the last 30 freaking years.
