Announces Monday. Haven’t heard much about him lately. Did we back off or is he choosing elsewhere?

We're a finalist, but haven't been paying attention TBH

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

He’s going to Auburn. Have no idea if we actually wanted him or not. It’s certainly been quiet here about basketball recruits.

He's going to be very good in college.  We have a very different kind of guard coming in, in Branham.  They would have thrived together, I'm sure.  But maybe neither IU or Gardner ended up thinking he was a great fit alongside guys like Branham, Burton if he comes back, Lindsay, etc...?

Gardner would have made us better.  Its hard to tell for sure, with him sharing the ball, primary role, etc... with Zachary... but I think he's going to become one of those "Houston like" dawg lead guards in college.  So it would have been great for that to have happened at IU.  We need someone like that, its been a long time since we had one.

But having said that, with Branham, and the guys we could have returning, the position Gardner plays isn't a huge need for us next year, in all likelihood.

I think PAM could be that guy. Probably why we backed off of Gardner.
