@dbmhoosier I mean the bambino took how many years? I lived through just a bit of that as a Red Sox fan.  Did we burry the man upside down??? Let us be Bobby!!!

perhaps the program hasn’t been cursed since we fired knight. Perhaps we were just blessed to have had coach Knight.

IU fans seem to think that there there’s something special in the water in Bloomington, that we are entitled to being elite. RMKFAN1 still has the most enlightened post ever when he said that “there is nothing special in the water in Bloomington”.

Is the “river” Jordan still named Jordan, and has it run dry?

@gerdis IU had a good, established program before RMK arrived.  He made it one of the best in the country.  This doesn't mean nearly as much as it used to, but being the main program in the state of Indiana, did, in a sense, put some special things in the water.  And now, I'd say there are still benefits of RMK's greatness, and then the support and money our program has behind it...and those things mean there are still some special elements in place in the water in Bloomington.  We just haven't had a coach since RMK that was effective at using it and maximizing it.

We’ve had bad coaches and sucked for 30 years, but claiming there is nothing special about IUBB is trying too hard to be a contrarian.

And I’m not sure our fans are “entitled.” They show up to support bad teams and get pretty excited when we make the tourney.  They seem more desperate than anything.

If we ever get a good coach their ceiling is high at IU.  No program can overcome a bad coach.  I hope we have good one, finally.

@thehoosierhuddle

I went to HS with him.  Not a good guy.  Wish he and his family were on the othersidd of the earth.  Hell, his dad promised he would be moving and coaching there for the love of the kids.  Shocker Ol Mark is still scamming kids to play for him and directing them where to play college ball.

hopefully no bumper stickers or program suspensions will come from the Adams family this go around of his tenure.

@cavanagh Elite Sean.  Elite.

To fans of a certain age, IUBB will always be special, to some degree, because of BK. HS and college-aged kids (i.e., recruits), however, have only known IU as a mediocre (at best) program. It is what it is.

@gerdis No, Jordan has been airbrushed out of IU History like an old Stalin-era photograph.

It's called the "Campus River" now. Must have taken a committee a month to come up with that name.

A lot longer than a month.  McRobbie appointed the Jordan Committee in July 2020.  They announced the renaming of the Jordan River and Jordan Ave in Dec of 2021.

And Jordan Hall is now called the Biology Building.  Academics can't agree on a name for a creek or a building.  Pathetic.
