Beat OSU!

Go Hoosiers!

IU has given themselves a fighting chance. Strong performance tonight.

Didnt see any it appeared over by the time I could watch. I expected they should win but you never know. Guessing Saturday is likely a must win or close to itn

Nice win against the Gophers but need to take care of OSU and perhaps win 2 in the Big 10 tourney. Convince the NCAA selection you belong in the tournament.

Me neither, but if IU plays like it did last night...

Highly unlikely they win two in the BTT so they better beat Ohio State. Our track record in the BTT is beyond awful.

@arioznahoosier4554 CDD, and these players, don't have a track record... so our history isn't overly relevant.  Other than its been fairly consistent, for whatever reason, over every coach we've had, including RMK.  We should have a fairly winnable first round matchup against one of the Wednesday winners.  And if it ended today, we'd play UCLA next if we win that first game... they haven't been very good away from the west coast, this year.  So I don't think winning 2 BTT games is all that unrealistic, for this team.  Obviously then it gets very tough, as we'd likely play the 2 seed.  But if that 2 seed ends up being Nebraska, somehow... we could definitely beat them.

Or, with this team, we could go 10 minutes late in the 2nd half without a bucket and lose to someone like Penn State in the first round.

@gthomas I just can't see a game where we slow down Thornton and Mobley enough to win.  They're both very good, and they're playing at a very high level right now.  We'll have to play how we did last night, just to make the game competitive, I would think.

I do because outside of woodson one time and mike davis once I dont think we have ever won two in a row in the btt in like 28 years. For whatever reason we are just flat out awful in the BTT and every year we say this time will be different but it never is.

Why not? Usually after a win lots think all is well again.

we don't have the talent to win more than 2.  That said if we play ucla in round 2 we aren't beating them a second time.

Davis actually won 2+ twice.

Yeah I think you are right. For as much crap as people give Davis he was our most successful post season coach in the  last 25 years.

OSU could drop a turd; it's not like they've lit the college basketball world on fire this season. Do I expect that? No. But I do think it's possible.

What would be really disheartening is if OSU plays poorly ... but IU fails to capitalize.

If Gabe Cupps goes off against the Hoosiers on Saturday, I might lose it. Some amazing stats, playing in all 29 the Buckeye games, he's scored a total of 44 points while amassing 47 fouls. Wow!

Cupps seems like a nice kid that may well be better suited to play in the MAC. Serves as an example of rankings not matching production. He was an Ohio Mr. Basketball and IU beat out Ohio State, Michigan, and Stanford to sign him out of high school. There are times when these prospect rankings need to be questioned and make little sense.

Contrast Cupps to Nick Martinelli at Northwestern. Martnelli was set to go to Elon but then Northwestern came into the picture. He's gone on to be the top scorer in the Big 10.
