It probably means absolutely nothing for the regular season but with Burton and Prince Alexander-Moody both off the floor, Mustaf handled point on that possession and ran an interesting pick and roll with Sherrell that resulted in a dunk attempt (he was fouled) for Aiden Sherrell. Mustaf's size, physicality and versatility make him an interesting piece. Also, regardless of competition level, Aiden Sherrell is darn good.

34-12 at the end of the first quarter...Sherrell scores again down low to start the 2nd.

Karvala with a nice block in transition as he showed off his athleticism and length. IU is applying some pressure which feels a bit unkind given the vast gulf in size/speed/athleticism/length...basically every trait that is required on a basketball court.

Prince Alexander-Moody knocks down consecutive three-pointers and USA extends the lead to 51-12. Sisley scores down low and it is 54-12. Bloodbath.

Darren Harris with six straight (a three and three-point play) to continue his solid half and USA leads 62-16 with a bit more than a minute left in the half.

Team USA/IU leads Chile 65-20 at the half. Obviously, better competition was expected but you can only play who shows up in this tournament and IU is doing a great job of taking care of business. Good half for Darren Harris. I'd expect a lot of run for guys like Manhertz, Karvala and the walk-ons in the second half.

The value in playing in this event is more about the work you put into getting ready for it and just playing against someone else. While the competition is far from good, it's still a team that is running stuff you haven't seen 100 times in practice and just robotically play against.

It is a great bonding experience as well and a trip of a life time for these kids.

Harris had a very good first half but I believe he just went 0-5 from 3 to begin the second half. Karvala, Manhertz and at least one walk-on checking in after this timeout. USA/IU leads 79-32.

3rd quarter is over...there are no takeaways to be had from a game like this. Team USA/IU will play for the tournament title against the US Virgin Islands on Monday. That game is currently slated for 4 pm EST and we'll let you know if it changes.

USA/IU squeaks by Chile 107-40 in a game that had all of the drama and suspense of a bug hurtling into the grill of a semi-truck.

Completely meaningless but by my count, Vaughn Karvala had 16 and again led the team in scoring. Darren Harris with 15 and 9 boards, Alexis and Sherrell both with 15, Sisley with 14. Prince Alexander-Moody with 7 assists per stats from Trevor Andershock of peegs.com.

@tjinman1987 For me the suspense is the reserves coming in. I treat the game as tied to see how well they do.

While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. I like Manherz length and Moody looks legit. Trent looks a lot more gown up. He is filling out nicely.

Am I the only one worried about the pg spot? I’m not too high on Burton! He may be the one I complain about the most this year! Maybe Moody can take the helms!?
