Last game of the Summer.  

Liked the full court ball hawking from the last game in particular, hope to see more of that as the Hoosiers let it all hang out building the lead. 

These guys should be at their most comfortable shooting in that Peru gym in this one so want to see 35 three point attempts minimum and 40% plus shooting from deep. 

A bit more subjective, I want to see continued improvement and passing smoothness in transition offense, especially with the starters. 

Lastly, let's just give the entire fourth quarter to the deepest bench guys and walk-ons.    

@middawg All good things to look for. Let's get out of this healthy and hit all those check marks and come back stateside.

It would seem like this game will not start at 3 as there is still nearly 7 minutes left in the 3rd place game

I also want our shooting percentage up. This season, way up.

I don't understand wanting a ton of threes if we only make 33%. Nothing special about that at all.

@openwheel For reference, the 2025-2026 Hoosiers shot 34.7% from three. That was good for 147th in the country (ahead of KU, Illinois, UConn, UK, UNC, St. John's, Tennessee, etc.). Would I like to see that bump up to 36% (top 65 nationally last season)? Absolutely. But given the increased interior options and Burton's ability to create off the dribble and drive, I think a repeat of the three-point numbers from last season PLUS those additional weapons and versatility on offense gives IU enough to be a really dangerous attack.

The additional weapons should make the shots easier, more open, more time.

I say we if we don't push the percentages well up, than what's the point of DeVries offense?

Anybody can chuck threes... Good coaching should see that we make threes.

Argentina wins the 3rd place game despite the efforts of both teams to drag it out as long as possible. USA/IU will take on the US Virgin Islands with a gold medal on the line. If IU wins, I will declare the Hoosiers to be World Champions. Who needs the stinkin' NCAA Tournament when you can conquer the FISU world?!?! Yes, this is sarcasm but also, having a gold medal would be pretty cool for the players and coaches!

That said, I don't think we will see a repeat of some of the sad 7 for 27 or worse games like last year. I think we definitely have better shooters.Tucker and Dorn got mental last year.

To be on the court I think we will have some at 38-40%, which is where you need to be to be a great shooter.

Argentina Won the third-place game 64-57. USA Vs US Virgin Islands will start here after a brief warm-up. 

PAM and Alexis in first for IU, replacing Mustaf and Lindsay. Sherrell bullies USVI on two straight possessions to put USA ahead 10-4 with a FT coming.

Team USA has decided they cannot get whatever they want at the rim this game and have made tossing the ball inside the focus. USVI is way more physically gifted than Peru or Chile but they still have no shot against the size and athleticism of USA/IU. It's 25-8 at the end of the first quarter as Bryce Lindsay buries a three at the buzzer.
