Trilly posted on Burner Ball that IU may have edged in front of Arizona for 5-star big man Darius Wabbington and "it could be very close to done" for the Hoosiers to land him. Wabbington was fantastic this past weekend at the Wooten camp and the Border League in Vegas. A decision is expected as soon as this week. With Chase Branham and Felix Kiehlneker already in the fold, Wabbington is really the only player IU is pursuing for the 2027 class and Darian DeVries has made it very clear to Wabbington that he is a huge priority.
@tjinman1987 Branham and Wabbington, to go along with guys like PAM, Mustaf, Harris, Yiggy... and then maybe even Burton and Sherrell... Yeah... that'll play.
@iunorth For context here...Indiana has recruited Wabbington with the following vision: look at how we are going to utilize Sherrell (practice footage being shown to him). He'll be here for one season and then he's going pro. That prolific role as a focal point of the offense is yours.
Now, that could just be recruiting bluster but they are recruiting Wabbington with the message that Aiden Sherrell will be in the NBA after one season in Bloomington and there are lots of minutes to be had next to a legit center in Samet Yigitoglu.
Will that pitch end up winning out over the hometown program that has been much better than IU? We'll find out soon. I still find it hard to believe that he ends up at IU but there's at least hope that it happens.

Not a big leaper but coordinated. Nice handle and good shot.
Had to look up his Compton Magic teammate ,#22 in a bunch of the highlights. Taller and can jump out of the gym. Didn't see him shoot though but several thunder dunks one handed. He's 7 footer Yann Kamagate, who apparently is a fast riser and coveted.
