I'm sure he'll win plenty for Iowa, but I have doubts he'll be hanging a bunch of banners which is my point. Its not about BM vs DD if neither are "the guy" and there's nothing to say either is atm. Way too early. Iowa trails IU in every rating/metric available and has no quality wins above Q3. Their offense has been beyond sluggish at times barely scoring double digits in a half on several occasions with Stirtz dribbling the air out of the ball for 25 seconds before somebody heaves a shot.
I think if IU fans were watching it in real-time here they'd be less thrilled than what many are claiming.
I also don't care if DDV is better than BM unless he's elite. The game-by-game, minute-by-minute comparisons of every little thing doesn't prove much or lead to anything. We've had 20 years of that with people on these sites pining for mediocre coaches because they're marginally better than what we had at the moment.
There were no elite options available last year. We'll have to wait and see how it all pans out.
Now if you want to talk about QB's selfishness and the lack of Dusty May, thats a different topic. That is the real shame here.

What I like about McCollum teams is they have some unique ways of looking for the open man and some unique patterns to their cuts. Once they have it figured out makes them tough.
But man, Iowa State last night looked in the first half of the first half like they'd never seen a basketball before. It didn't seem to be caused by Iowa. State just played like crap. Then they played a bit better. I'm sure it wasn't either teams' best game.

BM hasn't done anything special so far let alone anything that screams elite, yet.

He won over 80% of his games and 4 DII national titles most of which was when he was in his 30s. Killed it at Drake last year. Looks like he'll have Iowa in the tournament this season with a less talented roster than we have.
@dbmhoosier I'm talking D1 and this year. We'll see where they end up. They've played a worse schedule than us and lost 2 the only teams with a pulse so far.
