And that generation is actually fine with the results woodson gave. I would read comments on facebook and many thought he was doing a fine job. They are already making excuses for DD claiming you cannot expect him to do well his first season blah blah blah. Its mostly a losers mentality or the mentality of an average at best program. That is pretty much what IU has now become.
I ain't buying it. I know of no cohort that was "fine with the results Woodson gave." Granted, it took a year or two before most people realized he probably wasn't going to get it done; by year three it was apparent, and by year four it was blatantly obvious. None of that has any bearing on how much time or slack or grace we should be giving CDD. But whatever that might be, it has to be more than 13 games.

The ominous 'they' .....
His first season isn't over, premature ejaculators, it's just starting. It could get worse, it could get better. So, quit being an average mediocre fan, with a loser mentality giving up too early and maybe have a bit of patience and see how the season turns out before making absolute claims of doom for the life of the program...
Drama queens ....

Exactly.
It's already evident to some DD is not the answer, so any drama queening is understandable. Sure, he might win some games, but he won't significantly alter the trajectory of the program. I, for one, am not jazzed about IU simply being a skosh above mediocre. His first season isn't over, premature ejaculators, it's just starting.

I don't really see anybody advocating for what we've seen thus far as the new standard, nor will it be good enough for Dolson either. We can debate when that decision might come but 13 games is way too early for it. It'd be absurd to fire him now, so rooting against him is absolutely pointless.
Dolson canned Archie as soon as he became AD. He was forced to hire Bigfoot and still wanted (and would have) fired him after 3 years despite his cronie network and was able to finally send him packing in year 4.
If DDV doesn't have a fast turnaround, he won't last, but its unlikely we're going to hire the guy most of you all are going to clamor for next time either. Best thing to hope for is a turnaround now even if you think it unlikely.
I went from living and dying with IU hoops to downright apathy. After Archie and Bigfoot, Dolson needed to reinvigorate the fan base with the hire; instead, he grabbed Mr. Personality. If DDV doesn't have a fast turnaround, he won't last, but its unlikely we're going to hire the guy most of you all are going to clamor for next time either. Imo, it's a B-level hire. SD needed an A-level alpha. Perhaps this is the best a once-proud program can do; IU is no longer a basketball Blue Blood. Hell, college-aged people have seen single-digit NCAAT victories in their lifetime. IU is, and has been for a while, the hardwood version of Nebraska football. This coach won't change that.
@gthomas I think we just saw that this is the best programs can do now. UK and UofL have money and have been infinitely more successful than IU the past 30 years and neither could snag a big name. Mich got May but he was still somewhat unproven and a ton of ppl on these boards also thought he was a flash in the pan even during last season.
IU is no different, the main difference here is the crony incompetence. Buckner/Woodson cost us May who was likely the biggest thing we could have gotten. Now we're stuck in the roll the dice mode.

so Dolson has been "bullied" twice as you have mentioned. Once to hire Woodson and again to keep him around for years 3-4.
how do we know he won't get bullied again into keeping DD a year or two or three too long.
and sorry some you all don't like reality. But it doesn't make it drama. This coach won't win here. I don't care if it's only been 13 games. Seen enough I'll bet on it. And I think others that know basketball can see it to. So now it's a game of politics and image. Doesn't change the fact that he isn't the guy we need to turn the corner
@hoosiers94 Who is going to bully him about DDV? There's no comparison to him and Woodson and Buckner's network and influence at the University.

who knows. Not sure anyone thought Buckner would have done what he did either. Could it be Cuban. Whitten, Braun. Cig . We have no idea. That's the point. He's proven to be manipulated not once but twice.
@hoosiers94 Um, no. Zero chance any of them interfere over this. There's no comparison to the President of the BoT and former player demanding his buddy (another legendary former player) be hired.

Dolson didn’t get “bullied”.
@hoosiers94 ADs aren't kings they can't do whatever they want. The president of the BoT and former legendary player/alumni with a ton of clout/influence tells you you cannot fire his friend and also former legendary player/alumni, there's not a thing you can do about it. He could quit I guess, but that doesn't solve anything.
