It’s a real possibility IU goes into Happy Valley 9-0
The media, and most of our fan base, is automatically counting losses at Oregon and at Penn State.
Indiana is good enough to win both of those games.
I can guarantee you Cignetti thinks he can win at both places.
IU has chances at both places. Oregon is replacing a ton and lost their best receiver.
PSU is coming off the OSU game.
its not impossible, but it was one thought
My old friend in Eugene told me last week he expects IU to win at Oregon. He attended their spring game and was not impressed. He said they have a lot of holes to fix on this years team.
We’ve won in Eugene before 😎.
After this past season and from every interview he and this new Hoosiers team has ever done, I will never doubt or bet against Cignetti and co. Dude knows how to win and knows how to motivate his players and staff. We are blessed with one of the best coaches in the country and I firmly believe we can beat anyone this season. Let's go out there and WIN!!!!

We have a bye week before Oregon as well.
The games at Oregon and PSU should be a lot of fun, but personally, as a fan, the games I have circled are the ones at home against Illinois and on the road at Iowa. Win those two games and we’re probably sailing on a glide path toward replicating our success of last season. Lose one or both and the waters could get real choppy real fast. The level of anticipation (or PTSD for those of us who still wake up in a cold sweat over the 2021 season) is off the charts…
@jj_mcclure Yes. Those first two B1G games are likely going to make or break our season. I've been looking forward to them for months...
Here's what grinds my gears.
The lazy media statement I've heard a handful of times this off season that IUs offensive line was "dominated" by the Ohio St. D line last season.
IUs pass blocking was dominated, yes, not a good day.
IUs rush blocking and yards gained by our RBs was tops against the very good Ohio St. defense all season.
It was my opinion after the game that 300 plus rushing yards were on the table, if IU had committed to the run game earlier and that ridiculous false start wasn't called on our TE to derail that early drive.
Hence, the O-line getting "dominated" is such an incomplete and at least partially false and lazy narrative that I despise.
Sorry, but this is delusional.
Our 1st drive we had 7 rushes for 18 yards. We scored because of 2 pass completions totaling 32 yards and 2 PIs totaling 17 yards.
Our 2nd drive we had 1 rush for 6 yards.
Our 3rd drive we had 1 rush for 2 yards.
Our 4th drive we had 5 rushes for 27 yards.
We finished with 151 total yards.
We had 141 rush yards from our TBs. 46 of that game when we were behind 31-7 with 6-7 minutes left in the 4th.

Nearly all media and every fan base, except maybe 3-5 schools every year. look at schedules and realistically judge them and extrapolate results.
Winning on the road is hard.
Winning against teams with better talent than you is hard.
Those games happen to include both of those facts. Hence, it's completely understandable to forecast 10-2, even if you grant that anything is possible on any given day.
I like the chances at Oregon much better than at PSU. I like Us v. Illinois at home, but I worry about at Iowa the following week. Tough place to play, especially after a tough home win (hopefully) v. Illinois. !0-2 would be a great record.
Wanna know what pisses me off? Summertime in Houston when it’s 95+ and humid af and college football is still over a month away.
Looking forward to cooler temps in October and tailgating. That combo never sucks, IMHO.

Been there, done that, won't ever do it again. Enjoyed my time there, but never again.
