@ccmac they do a draft of games. Things can get traded. Here’s what I’ve heard this morning.
Maryland-Wisconsin Noon NBC
Purdue-ND stays at 3:30 NBC
Illinois-IU 7:30pm NBC
they must have given USC-MSU to Fox.
It’s not as simple as just TV time slots. There’s a lot of negotiating and things.
Fox does have Iowa at Rutgers Friday night, so maybe that played into it too.
99% sure that’s the lineup. I trust my source. He is a producer for NBC Sports/Peacock
@gros-louis Assuming all you just typed is correct, it all but guarantees we'll be the Big Noon game that week.
Actually, we should probably be hoping for the Big Noon game for Illinois. Even if IU goes undefeated, it could be the only Big Noon/Gameday game they get this year.
Iowa won't be either.
Oregon at PSU will be GameDay, I'm sure. That game is a couple weeks before IU at Oregon. They won't play that game at 9AM Eugene time... so Big Noon is out. And Gameday won't feature Oregon so close together, I assume. And they won't go back to Happy Valley a 2nd time for GameDay. And I believe I heard that IU game is one of PSU's planned "white out" games.
Maybe the Big Noon opportunity trumps the night game/white?
None of the other games strike me as games that would bring those big production crews to town, even if IU runs the table. Maybe their first CFP game.

Does PSU do more than one white out??? The Oregon game has definitely been established as a white out game this year.
How likely is Gameday to come to the Illinois game? Would they do Utah-Texas Tech or USC-Mizzou instead?
@iugradman I wouldn't count on GameDay coming. More politics than quality of game.
It’s a shame to have an entire network rooting against your program. So much institutional opposition to IU having success.

A lot will depend on outcomes this coming weekend, but both Illinois and IU are safe bets to win.
That Utes Red Raiders game might be of interest for them.
Miami-UF has lost some luster overall with Florida losing and if they lose again vs LSU Saturday, then it's even less attractive BUT, they could play the angle of The U being back if they manage to beat USF this weekend.
South Cackalacky at Mizzou could be of interest. Both are ranked and both will be favored to win this weekend (Louisiana and Vandy at home).
SMU at TCU could be a dark horse, but SMU losing likely hurt that.
ASU at Baylor, another dark horse.
Michigan losing might take some of the luster off of their game at Nebraska, but if they haven't been to NEbraska in a long time (?), maybe that is in play.
I give us a 35% chance, behind South Cackalacky at Mizzou.
I get GameDay is more prestigious, but the Big Noon presentation last year was really good at showcasing IU/IUFB. Plus it still does a pretty nice rating on network TV for two hours.
If we get Big Noon that’s still good stuff.
@thehoosierhuddle I’m guessing this is more big ten vs espn politics. But just curious if it’s also IU vs ESPN? Given the way they have negatively covered us the last 10 months.
@gros-louis My buddy is a producer of their studio show and ND football stuff. So I had the hook up here. NBC wanted a bunch of IU games

Looks like Fox ended up with Texas Tech at Utah in that noon slot.
Will be a monster game. Kind of a must win for Illinois unless they pull a miracle against OSU. Hard to see a 2 loss Illinois team with zero remotely quality wins getting in.
But a must win for us as well unless we pull a miracle at OR or PSU. Should be fun.
