- Question for this board:
What are your thoughts on Dillon Thieneman as a draft pick? I thought he went way too high at 25. Way too high. Some say it was a steal. And this has nothing to do with playing for Purdue.
i didn’t think he was that good at Purdue. He was slow and flat footed half the time. Backs ran through him. I guess he was the one shining star on a turd defense while there. Then he goes to Oregon and we made him non-existent in our matchups.
He just seemed to always be hyped. Maybe it was his sophomore year he played his best but these last two years, he didn’t do much other than an interception against PSU to get the win in OT.
Thoughts?
Roman Hemby’s favorite goal line defender!
Honestly can’t say. Didn’t watch much of either of his teams except when IU was playing them and don’t remember him doing much at all.
He was excellent as a freshman. He did come up with the big interception against Penn State to win that game in OT.
He is fine. I also thought Minnesota would take him to eventually replace Harrison Smith
Hemby wasnt the biggest back but he made light work of Thienemanananan. Imagine what Derek Henry is going to do.
@yothn He's not going to be asked to stop Derrick Henry in the hole all that much. If he is, the coach is a moron.
My nephew was on the football team with him for Westfield for several years, so saw him play live back then maybe a dozen or more times.
I find it remarkable a MAC level player in HS, then with some picks his freshman season at Purdue, and then a ton of missed tackles as a Soph, and then stream rolled by Hemby at the goalline at Oregon, somehow got himself graded in the first round.
He must have a Shamrock up his ass to be so lucky.
He was no Louis Moore. But he wasnt bad.
Thienemin ran a sub 4.4 at the combine. The NFL drools too much over potential, but it seems like a good thing to have wheels at safety in the NFL.
I agree with Middawg... Dudes overrated, big time...
I'm going enjoy watching him get trucked regularly...
Stop picking on the Bears!

He also got beat bad by Sarratt in the back of the end zone in the playoff.
Can't tackle, Can't cover.
