@janitor14 I am sure they were prepared, unless they don’t want to pay legal fees.

I'm guessing a lot of IU alum lawyers would do it pro bono.

Can this be expedited for them to get a TRO or are we looking at a wait of a month or more?

@jj_mcclure I would hope that they were prepared and can file something Monday, but from my experience, state courts are kinda slow. I’ll defer to the lawyers here.

@jj_mcclure They will seek a TRO and preliminary injunction from a state court probably the first part of next week.  Where, I'm not sure. It won't be hard to identify a county court in some state that would have jurisdiction to issue the injunction that would be likely to issue the injunction, but they also need to get the court of appeals in that same state to either uphold the injunction when it is immediately appealed by the NCAA or kick it down the road past football season, which would accomplish the same thing. This is what Louis Moore did last year.  The legal theory will be different than what was asserted in the federal court case where the NCAA just got a positive result, and likely for the better.

I would be surprised and disappointed if the IU legal team (or the legal team some donors are paying for) haven't already prepared for this course of action.

@thehoosierhuddle I have no idea how the legal proceedings go with this, but Lord, I hope the lawyers representing the players get to use the NCAA's own 5/5 policy against them and someone has to answer how 5/5 makes sense as the policy for all future players and for the Covid years, but not for this 1 year.
