Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
bummer. hopefully that changes again before season starts
Ugh
It can change at anytime.

@thehoosierhuddle Amazing to me the NCAA would even fight this. It affected 1 class, and it's a perfectly reasonable argument to think they shouldve been grandfathered anyway. Why not just shrug your shoulders and move on. I'm sure they'll appeal and think it will be granted because otherwise they lose the right before a court decision can be made. Not a battle the NCAA should've chosen imo.
Did I understand correctly that now they have to fight it individually?

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

I don't know. The NCAA has been taking a Ryan Walters level of Ls on cases. Every time one thing is allowed to stand, a new lawsuit comes up asking for one more thing. I would think at some point they need to take more cases all of the way to finally put some kind of control over this mess.
Of course, this won't be on its way to being fixed until Congress passes something. Right after they get done addressing the budget deficit, entitlements, the War in Iran, inflation, & infrastructure.
@kkott I have learned in life to pick my battles. It's a mindset changer. You're 100% right the NCAA needs to pick their battles. If you want to fight guys who signed pro contracts coming back? Fine, but this was largely avoidable

They’ll be eligible by game one.
Well that sucks. I guess the point differential will be +39 rather than +41.5.
I wasn't counting on those guys. Mainly for that reason. Figured they'd resolve appeals sometime this winter.
Fingers crossed though.
And both guys still have a shot at NFL next year, but much harder if they can't show their stuff again.
The path is to file suit and get an injunction in a state court. Two Louisville players did that this afternoon, hours after this decision came out. This is what Louis Moore did last year.
@janitor14 I am sure they were prepared, unless they don’t want to pay legal fees.
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
I would assume IU would pay the legal fees?
Even if not, paying the legal fees would probably be worth it given how much is on the line re NFL draft.
